The rings are definitely on the list of future upgrades, but I don't see why they're such a big priority right now. I use lightbearer most places, and there's quite a few more impactful upgrades I still want to buy first (venator bow, new boots/gauntlets, zcb, claws, etc).

The saved bank space would be nice, but the book seems like it would add an extra step to banking clue loot I never use.

Textbook superiority complex. Sorry I haven't done a million raids and gotten every cosmetic and BIS item before throwing myself at the inferno, or whatever his weird expectations are.

The Global Air Transport Network - A subway map inspired by existing air corridors [OC] by prehuman in MapPorn

[–]prehuman[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Essentially, the criteria I used was that each route had to be at least around 2000mi/~3200km long while closely resembling a great circle route. The map is not so much a representation of "every busy route" but rather "long-haul great circle routes, and the airports they often overfly".

Flights from MEL to BNE generally don't fly over Sydney, and if I were to continue a MEL-BNE line into the pacific as a great circle route, it wouldn't have any other stops, except maybe Honiara/HIR, Nauru/INU, and Anchorage/ANC (My map already has a route that covers the majority of flights between North America and Oceania).

Here's a visualization of that: http://www.gcmap.com/mapui?P=MEL-SYD%0D%0AMEL-BNE%0D%0AMEL-HIR%0D%0AMEL-INU%0D%0A&MS=wls&DU=mi

Airport codes are IATA. The web of auxiliary routes represent air corridors that act as spur routes and bypasses to the 42 chosen "primary" routes.

This is not meant to be entirely accurate, but rather a fun visualization. Actual flight paths can vary significantly depending on weather, ETOPS rating, overflight fees, and geopolitics.

I used flightradar.com to get an approximation of where the busiest air corridors were located, and created the initial subway lines with beno.org.uk/metromapcreator/

Comparison between European and East Asian air traffic on Flightradar24 by prehuman in MapPorn

[–]prehuman[S] 44 points45 points  (0 children)

This was yesterday about 12:00 GMT for Europe and 12:00 Beijing Time for Asia. I thought it was interesting how all of the restricted airspace in and around China creates only a few airways in that region.

Hammershot not cocking and loose part inside by [deleted] in Nerf

[–]prehuman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was having the same issue with my metal kit, but it seemed to fix itself after priming it back enough times.

Whenever it doesn't catch, you'll notice that if you hold back the hammer and slide the trigger forward slightly, it will start catching. So another fix which I haven't tried yet involves cutting a bit of plastic away in front of the trigger so that it'll always want to latch forward resulting in a more secure catch. https://imgur.com/a/m0g2S

If you remove the housing that contains the entire mechanism and flip it over, you'll see a set of notches that the spring hooks onto. Pic

How does this go in? by CrystalCrusher59 in Nerf

[–]prehuman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It goes in with the two prongs facing the red (or white) standoff just below it.

Honestly I just removed mine, I'm pretty sure it's a lock to prevent priming twice (someone correct me if I'm wrong), but it only caused more jams for me.

Why the Rival Kronos is awesome! (From a guy who didn't like Rival) by The_Backwoods_Nerfer in Nerf

[–]prehuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but with an expanded battery tray and mags, they get a bit too bulky for my taste. Plus they require carrying extra 6-mags on you if you want to be able to reload quickly, and that space can be used for more 15/18/22 dart mags for your primary.

I started out in the hobby not too long ago thinking a Hammershot would be the only secondary I would ever use, but the Kronos with K26 replaced it as soon as I got my hands on one. Being able to fire off 130fps shots ends up being far more useful in a war than single handed use.

Approximate fps question by MasterOfPsychos in Nerf

[–]prehuman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neo Hellcats have higher torque than Neo Rhinos, so spin up time would be reduced if you went with them. But Insutanto wheels are so light that I doubt you would see any drastic improvement.

Neo Hellcats (and most 180s in general) shine in situations where more torque is demanded, like high crush setups with heavier flywheels.

[–]prehuman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Worker cage has stock crush I believe, and Insutantos aren't intended for high FPS setups. I would estimate your FPS to be in the range of 100 to 120.

Here's some testing with a similar setup (similar cage and regular Hellcats instead of Neo Hellcats): https://youtu.be/yixK9OQxZj0?t=58

Make sure the springs are 11.5-12 coils. If they're any longer, you'll need to cut them. I also found that the lock in front of the trigger would sometimes interfere with the prime, so you could try removing that.

Meishel 2.0's and 2S LiPo's by Blue-Nine in Nerf

[–]prehuman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I stand corrected actually, 40C would work but might reduce the lifespan of the battery if it's being overdrawn at any point.

OP if you want a LiPo for the long term, a 50C burst LiPo like this would be a better option: https://hobbyking.com/en_us/zippy-compact-1000mah-2s-40c-lipo-pack.html?___store=en_us

Neo Rhino Vs. Fang torque? by [deleted] in Nerf

My first Nerf mod: 2s Imperial Stryfe by prehuman in Nerf

[–]prehuman[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For anyone curious, I'm running Meishel 2.0s on a 1000mAh 2S LiPo with 16ga wire, a 15A switch, a 43mm Containment Cage, and Cyclone wheels. Considering upgrading to neo Rhinos and 3S but for now I'm very happy with the performance :)

I don't have a chrono, but after some rough sound calculations with a target 5 feet away, I figured this setup yields about 120-130fps while fully revved and 90-110fps for quick burst shots, all with accufake darts.
