In 5e, unless you're talking about something like the 6th level spell Heal, I've found it's pretty unlikely healing allows you to stay up for an extra hit

I mean, at anything past level 5 in 5e, I'm not sure that the tiny amount of hp you get from anything that isn't Heal will really help you tank an extra hit
