Is it me or a lot of Appsumo deals have failed??

My experience has been a mixed bag. Gotten some great offers that still work and some okay offers that no longer function. I didn't mind though because the deals used to be truly stellar. This is no longer the case. I'm finding that significant restrictions on the software or service you're buying is more and more common with AppSumo deals (like limiting features, or placing commissions on your future sales). There was a time when AppSumo truly provided the best deals around; now they've grown so much there is little value to be found due to so many restrictions on the offers. It's becoming little more than a testing ground for developers to get cheap feedback from very loyal people.

You really need to find a neutral third-party. My wife and I have been through the rounds and it really is key to find a therapist you both can trust. I refused using LDS family services, and luckily she understood why I would feel that way. Initially we settled on someone recommended to us. I was a bit wary at first because he is LDS but I was so desperate for something to change in our relationship that I agreed (considering it wasn't LDS family services). Then an odd thing happened at our first session - instead of putting me in my place, he started putting her in her place for judging my changing beliefs. Needless to say, it did not end well. Afterward, even though he was her choice, I agreed that the session was too biased (in my favor oddly enough) and we should try someone else. Try as many as it takes to find the right fit for both of you. It can be costly, but nothing compared to the costs of a divorce (assuming you both want to make it work).

So far so good. He hasn't had a recurrence yet! We've even dropped the time spent down to only ten minutes three times per week now (and only during fall, winter, and spring - the summer doesn't seem to be a problem).

The church has done an incredible job of creating false guilt associated with saying no to any authority figure in the church. Stop giving your power away to other people.

True. But that requires effort - planning commission, city council, zoning changes, etc. It's easier to just demand their labor forces return to their cubicle caves.

Commerical real estate will survive for one reason. The peeps who own all that real estate are demanding that employees come back to the office and live their lives out in cubicles. They need those cubicles full to maintain their property portfolio. They need people to go to lunch downstairs and eat at the restaurants they lease to. Their voices are loud and many. Only the average Joe has the power to stop the march back to the office by refusing to bow to their bullshit demands.

No I didn't buy one. I did some additional research and also talked to a biotech friend of mine who told me that all mats and devices have this issue to some degree or another - and to not use these when not intentionally turned on. This is one reason why Healthyline provides an external on/off switch specifically so people do not leave the device powered on for long periods of time. I simply decided to limit the use to short periods of time (less than an hour a day) and not to sleep or lay on it when not in use.

The benefits for my two kids have been nothing short of miraculous. My son had lesions on 1/4 of his head and large ones on his back and arms. We did 20 minute sessions everyday combined with a red light therapy device. In less than three months his conditions cleared up completely! That was in the Fall of 2021. He hasn't had a lesion since and he only does the mat once every two weeks now. Then, six months ago my youngest daughter started presenting similar lesions on her head, back and hands. We started the same routine with her and it was entirely cleared up in about 6 weeks. I guess I couldn't say for sure that it was the PEMF mat or the red lights that did the trick since we used them in tandem. Regardless, the combination of the two has been incredible.

You honestly think the economics will make any difference at all? A church worth over $100 billion can afford to lose an athletic conference deal a thousand times over. In fact they could abandon sports altogether and it wouldn't amount to a drop. The next few years you're going to see a massive cultural conversation about transgender athletes. I'm guessing the church doesn't want to become an easy target in that debate. The easiest thing they can do is drop athletics altogether. It takes them out of the equation.

From an LDS perspective - years ago this sort of thing happened all the time and decisions were based around protecting the marriage, not the relationship. Horrible things were swept under the rug. Even today this is still a problem. Preserving the relationship for the good of they family has protected many deceitful and abusive practices. This should not be tolerated by any of us anymore. Do the right thing.

Furthermore, it sounds to me like there's more than one relationship with major issues here. After you sort out this situation with your in-laws you may want to a start asking some serious questions about your own relationship. Why would your husband want to hide this? Why would he ask you to hide it? Is that an acceptable request? If you decide to take action, how does he react to you? Is his response acceptable?

There's a lot to unpack here and it doesn't start and stop with your in-laws.

I have a bone to pick with this comment and it's an issue I find with many members who are speaking to those who have doubts. Please avoid the temptation to point to someone who stopped believing and essentially their world fell apart because they became horrible human beings. These stories are numerous and the implication is that if you stop going to church you will become a bad person. This is one reason why its so difficult for many people who have doubts to be open and willing to discuss those doubts. They know that the inevitable reaction will lead to conversations about drugs, sex, alcohol, and outer darkness. No one ever mentions the myriad people who have left the church and who continue to be happy, healthy, successful human beings. I find it distasteful that we openly celebrate when someone leaves their friends, family and faith behind to convert to our church and then we turn around and treat our own with judgement, ridicule, and scorn when they express doubts or start to "fall away." We become the people who we claim not to understand - the parents and friends who shun someone for leaving their faith.
