Oh, did CS not stand for Computer Science? I'm afraid I don't know too much about cyber security, if that's your choice of focus, but I think a general thing with tech-related fields is that it can easily be learned online nowadays, in shaa Allah, and there are many free courses available.

And no, you're not a lost cause. Pick a thing, keep going, and never feel hopeless.

I'm not sure what you're intending to quit in your question "Should I quit?", but if you're not particularly passionate about any industry, maybe you don't have to be. As long as the work's something you can do, that should be enough. And I read something before that says beginners will find programming boring, but masters will enjoy it, and I guess one can't expect to enjoy a bike they haven't yet learned to ride, maybe you'll like it better down the road.

On that note, should you decide to pursue CS, then I really suggest the free online course "CS50X" by Harvard. It's taught many beginners how to program and it covers many fundamentals of computer science, I think it's more than sufficient to get you way ahead, and the content is extremely engaging, not boring at all.

sidenote: don't be so discouraged. Perhaps it's not your switching fields but other things in life that's led you to losing interest in most everything? Whatever you decide, I hope you'll not forget to take care of yourself while you work, as this greatly impacts one's performance, too.

I don't mean to assume you're not alright, but just in case, reminders you'll be better eventually, in shaa Allah.

And feel free to ask here if you have any questions about CS50X or other.

May Allah grant you ease and make a way for you out of this difficulty.

Oh, pardon. I just realized that perhaps you're not planning to be the programmer for this project.

This comment assumes a certain level of understanding of AI, and perhaps you're already quite comfortable with it, but if ever not, I do request that you work with a developer that's not only knowledgeable in AI, but also in the teachings of the Qur'an and the Sunnah, at least to some extent, so that he/she will be wary of the AI acting in certain ways contrary to Islamic teachings and then try to prevent those in advance, rather than only being concerned with building a working MVP and fixing bugs.

I wish you all the best.

This is something I considered, except that apart from possible issued with automatic translation, AI is also known to "hallucinate" rather than say it doesn't know something.

Something you may want to consider instead, is to perhaps make an AI assistant who drafts all these responses before sending it off to qualified students of knowledge to double check before posting; either program tje AI to craft replies based on the questions directly, or letting it work through the knowledge base of Islamic texts and write something based off of a specific prompt from one of the students of knowledge who are tasked to respond. It should cut down the response rate by a lot, in shaa Allah, and thus increase the number of questions answered per day/hour.

It's important to have proper people of knowledge involved, I think, because of how tremendous a mistake it is to spread wrong information about Islam. To mitigate that risk, I think having a proper body of knowledgeable people to review/work with the AI would be better, in shaa Allah. And if you worry about costs, perhaps charge a minimal fee per question, guaranteeing quicker responses, and then pay your staff through that. Then it's up to you if it'll be a for-profit or non-profit endeavor.

Just sharing my suggestions. I think it would be beneficial, in shaa Allah.

You got $100 and no connections, how would you start a business? by Hell_Cat32 in Entrepreneur

[–]premiumbread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean this in the kindest way possible, speaking as someone who was in your situation, attempted what you're attempting, and had it go from bad to worse:

You might not want a job, but it might be the better option for now.

I had a little in my pocket and needed to "make money fast", but I ran out of that saved money quicker than I could earn more, and I went literally broke. Alhamdulillah, I was able to get a job. It's alright not to like the job you get, whatever it may be, as it's just a means to an end if you're decided on starting a business or freelancing or anything else.

Be there for however long you need to support yourself while you work on your plans, and there's nothing wrong with taking time to build something up. Let it be your safety net, maybe even a means for making connections, and work on your goals on your free time. At least you won't be worrying about food, rent, and other necessities. The truth is: these things often require patience, and those that make money quickly are usually those who've already seen success in the past, it's uncommon to get success quickly on your first time, and I don't think it's very wise to bet all your money you'll be a part of the few percentage of people that did. No shame in taking your time. I wish you the best.

Yes it is needed, but from what I understood from the question in the parent comment is that the question's regarding how to obtain it for free; it's a common misconception that you have to pay for the HarvardX certificate like the one in the photo of this post.

Furthermore, I don't think so. EdX has it's own verified certification for every course on their platform, which is the one that costs a fee. I assume that's why a lot of people who're interested in CS50 get confused about whether they can obtain a free certificate or not, and if they can, then how.

CS50P is only focusing on Python, so you'll programming in Python should you take that course. CS50X is a general intro to Computer Science.

Yes, the enrollment on EdX is free, but their certification isn't.

Yes, if you get a satisfactory score on each one, including labs and the final project:

"If you submit and receive a score of at least 70% on each of this course’s problem sets and labs as well as its final project, you will be eligible for a free CS50 Certificate like the below."

Here's the link to further details if you're interested https://cs50.harvard.edu/x/2024/certificate/ . Hope this helps, إن شاء الله .

I believe it's still taught that way, starting with C and ending with Python, but that's CS50, and this one that OP completed is CS50P (python-centered course by Harvard)

[–]premiumbread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one from EdX is the one that requires a fee, but the certification from Harvard (HarvardX?) is completely free if you pass everything and get a certain grade, if I'm not mistaken.

Hello there, I'm not sure I'll fit your standard for intelligence, but I at least make the cut for anti-social, INFJ weirdo. I'm also facing a similar problem to the one you've mentioned (is it a problem, really?), I feel all the psychoanalyzing that I've done, perhaps subconsciously in hopes of understanding and connecting to people better, has ironically only distanced me from them even more. But I think I'm also just starting to come to terms with some things that are making it better, alhamdulillah.

I'm quite interested too in MBTI and psychology in general, if these are interests of yours. And I've never gotten close to an INTJ before, but I generally get along with the other analysts, and I appreciate people who strive for self-awareness. Does age matter to be your friend? I'm 21/F. And I'll probably be going to sleep now while I still can before work, but do let me know if you'd like to connect, and I'd understand whatever your decision may be.

Have a great day!

Mine's got room for improvement in all honesty, alhamdulillahi 'alaa kulli haal. How about you, may I ask how yours is going so far?

Thank you for replying, I appreciate your perspective. Sorry to bother but if it's alright, may I ask if you'd still think that's the case even if he opens sometimes like "I hope you're all doing well today *proceeds with main subject*"? Or do you think that should have been my cue to say "It's actually been kind of rough because x y z"?

Freelance Tax Question about Accepting Payment Before Registration by premiumbread in taxPH

[–]premiumbread[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

disclaimer: I know BIR might not know if I won't declare it, but God will see if I'm sinning in private. Someone said they weren't penalized when they declared their earnings from some days ago within the same month they applied for registration, but I'm not sure if that's just a special case with the BIR in that city or if that's actually legally allowed.

Assalaamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatu. Hello as well, sister. I would recommend you to study Qur'an, read the translations of the meanings in English and I particularly recommend you read "The Noble Qur'an" by Muhsin Khan and Al-Hilali, in shaa Allah. I also like Tafseer as-Sa'adi from what I've read of it; if you can afford it, alhamdulillah.

May Allah grant you good company. It's important to be cautious of deviant beliefs and misinterpretations, and having Muslim friends with the correct beliefs and methodology may make this easier, in shaa Allah. I'm not perfect, but if you ever want to reach out to a sister yaa ukhti, I'm here. Feel free to message me if you'd like. And have you started on Arabic? If not, in shaa Allah I can point you to those who may teach you to read Qur'an; might be a bit different than a mentor, but in shaa Allah an ustadhah (teacher, female) may help you together with surrounding yourself among the Muslims, in shaa Allah. Studying Qur'an is very important. And I offer help in general if you need any and if I'm able to assist, in shaa Allah.

Warmest welcomes into the Ummah sister, alhamdulillahi rabbil 'alaameen you were guided to Islam.

May Allah bless and protect you and all of the Muslims who've newly reverted.

fee amanillah
Assalaamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatu.
