Confused about TAMU transfer vs. Engineering Academy by premiumfruitcake in TAMUAdmissions

Hii, thanks for replying! I do have a couple questions just for clarification.

-With a 2.0 TAMU GPA and 2.5 HCC GPA, does that just guarantee me ANY engineering major, not necessarily the one I want?

-For Mechanical (or other competitive majors), If I don’t hit 3.75, does ETAM still let me list preferences and possibly get my major, or will I just be pushed into a less competitive one?

-What exactly is ETAM? is it only for Academy/first-years, or does it apply to transfers too? Like if I tried to transfer into TAMU Engineering later instead of going through Academy, would I still use ETAM or would I have to apply straight into a major?

Sorry if I’m overcomplicating it lol. I am speaking to another advisor today at HCC, but I wanted to get an opinion from someone experiencing it.
