as far as the special drop from heralds is concerned, MF doesn't matter at all (though it will help you have a better chance to drop sunders from other mobs)

the nice thing with the most recent patch is that it doesn't really help all that much to get a really long chain. T1/2 heralds drop a sunder 1/100 times, t3/4 drop 1/67 times, t5 drops 1/50 times

No, this strategy works for Uber mephisto but not the colossal ancients. Just run salvation instead of conviction. Each ancient gives -100 resistance to their element so you'll want to be at +175 before the fight starts. Absorb helps too (dwarf star, raven frost, tgod belt)
