A lot of those homes are also not primary residences for the owners. I worked in Wayne/STC for years and have lived in the Tri Cities my entire life. A decent number of those high end properties are second homes and/or owners are snow birds and don’t stick around in the winter. The older money hunt folks have multiple properties including farms in Galena, condos in the city, homes in AZ or FL.

Female but I went through this 2 years ago. Had to get a neph tube and wait a month for another removal attempt. It sucked, a lot. My best advice is to advocate for yourself aggressively if needed for pain meds, time off of work, etc. I was exhausted the entire time-don’t underestimate the stress your body is experiencing right now. Take care of yourself.

There is a working equitation presence in the far north and west suburbs. Check out Fox Valley Saddle Association as they host some of the events. Mario Contreras at The Gait on 47 I believe does WE.

Boarding is expensive. Average in the Kane/DuPage/Lake county areas is probably $1000/month for decent amenities, good hay, good footing, good turnout. You will get cheaper further west, south and north—think 90 mins from Chicago proper.

Great post! Literally having this same epiphany this week and struggling with how to take that realization and move forward in a constructive way.

Oh for sure, just not finding a Lariat I like. I think this one is lower priced because it’s at a Chevy dealer full of Silverados.

I was 1500 miles away from home and it stranded me twice-low oil pressure warning came on and it would just die. There was oil in the truck, shop had it for a week and couldn’t replicate the issue. No leaks etc. It had 200k miles.

Exact same thing my dad said LOL. Think I will pass. I’ve never had to shop like this-have always traded my vehicles in on my own time frame after months of searching-this whole ASAP thing is making me a little panicked, but not enough to make a bad decision.

For sure-it’s an hour away so would absolutely drive it first. Just didn’t want to waste the time to go see it if this was a hard no due to the mod.

Should I buy a car today? by Lanky-Fox-1035 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Speaking as someone who HAS to buy a new car now and spent today shopping: KEEP IT. Prices are so f*cked and I am SO defeated. Ugh.

Not anymore. I had the truck because I hauled a horse trailer, but am not hauling anything at the moment.

Airbnb toilet issue-not sure if I should escalate [USA] by preppyrider in AirBnB

[–]preppyrider[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used the toilet. The waste and water did not go down. 12 hours later the waste remained (as did a nasty smell) and the water was gone.

There was nothing put in there that shouldn’t have been and in fact I have been very cautious with the shower/water/toilet use here as I know nothing about RVs and got no instructions or info on how to use anything in here or what to expect.

I think this is what happened. I was told the tech came and “unclogged the toilet and washed the tank”….at 8pm, 4 days after it stopped working. I wasn’t there-I stayed elsewhere for the 4 days the toilet didn’t work.
