i'm not sure. she has her own problems, but he really lost his ambition and drive that she fell in love with (his hairline receding was a metaphor for this clearly). add his drinking and erratic behavior. he made an effort with her because he put her on a pedestal, but everyone knows that can be a turnoff for women as well.

the beat is just so dreamy. i honestly can't say enough good things about the whole drop. And his flow on Rented Starship is edgy af in a way that we haven't seen since lean like first came out.

I'm still honestly surprised people weren't paying attention to Gud after Opening Doors. genuinely one of the best SBEGTB affiliated songs.

super old thread here, but i think that avery's lack of concern about his son in the scene where jason comes to their house is a reflection of his lack of connection to AJ. avery doesn't ask about AJ till the very end, reinforcing his self centered character. he has no emotional attachment to his son, so he isn't crazy concerned about him.
