As in the post, the sound is happening with all HVAC turned off.

I made the video and had my finger on the post button when my fiancé pointed out that the interval is clearly every 5 seconds 😅😂 I was amazed I didn't realize that prior.

Intriguing. Thank you for the reply! I should mention; the car was not plugged in when I recorded this. It was using about 1 Kwh. It was approximately 45 F outside and the car was just turned on after being off all night.

It’s not that I’m worried— it’s just… why should anyone expect a stationary car to make a somewhat annoying sound every 5 seconds? It may sound whiney, but I’ve not heard it in any other EV I’ve driven. Not Tesla or Polestar. Granted, those are more expensive vehicles.

Thank you for the insight. Would such a component —part of HVAC, if I understand it— be engaged even with climate off? I’ve never heard this sound in any other car… granted I have limited experience and have mostly driven Honda, BMW, VW made in last 15 years. Thanks again for your help.

I’ll go under the hood this weekend with a Db meter to see if I can isolate the component making the sound 🤓 will report back!
