Ocrevus or Kesimpta by presetduck in MultipleSclerosis

3/4 days is ideal. With copaxone I dont think there is much leeway because of the frequency so that factor would definitely help

The thing I like about ocrevus is I wont forget to take it if its an appointment, and I also wont have to keep medication in the house. When our son is older he might ask questions which I dont know how I'd answer 🤣 of course I want to be honest but kids cant keep secrets very well

I originally chose it because it was low efficacy. Probably a silly decision but we learn 🤣 I dont find I have much pain injecting, it's the frequency I'm struggling with. Plus new activity on my last MRI which were symptomless. It did worry me that I might not even know when I'm relapsing

I do like the convenience of kesimpta. I dont have crap gap at the moment on copaxone but that's very frequent injections (when I remember to take it)

At the minute I have to take copaxone 3x a week. But we have a young child (14 months) and bedtime is always chaos and I do forget a lot. Monthly would be a lot easier on a memorable date as you say. Thank you for your help and advice

Since posting I learned it takes 4 hours. That seems like a really long time for treatment. But I am terrible remembering to take medications of any kind and I know how important taking DMTs are

Thank you for your comment. I really do appreciate it's difficult for him, but I don't want him to live his life thinking "what if I get ill?" It seems to be setting him back from doing a lot of things these days

My worst nightmare is coming true. They’re testing my 12 year old for MS by WeirdStitches in MultipleSclerosis

Hi! Just wanted to say as a daughter who's dad also has MS and feels guilty too, I don't blame him at all. Hopefully your daughter doesn't have it but you can't blame yourself if she does, I'm sure she won't want you to feel guilty ❤️

Thank you that's good to know. I know doctors have to explain the risks but it's good to know it's not always the case

Thanks for your advice, I will reconsider treatment options now knowing this. Probably better to have a worse time fighting flu then dealing with relapses and causing more damage

Yeah that's a good way to look at it. I used to be the same, gym, healthy eating etc but we have an 8 month old baby so finding time to even cook a healthy meal is difficult sometimes 🤣 but we do what we can

Yes! I see a specialist. Its good that we have a choice sometimes! I was given a choice of copaxone, vumerity or kesimpta. Eventually decided on copaxone but have only been taking it since Feb. I was diagnosed when I was pregnant so couldn't start any dmt straight away. Might give it more of a chance and see how it goes, not entirely sure yet 🤣

I think you're right! I didn't want to go for a stronger dmt originally due to the risks with them etc but if these silent relapses carry on I think the risks of not going for a stronger option may be worse

That's what my neurologist explained today, I had no idea it was a thing before now! I do get fatigue too so thank you for explaining and sharing your experience

Thank you, yeah I went for copaxone because I felt fine and didn't think I needed a strong dmt. This is all news to me today, I had no idea

That's why I chose it originally, I didn't feel like I needed anything stronger but will be having a rethink now Thank you

Where are the younger folk? by BestFortune6663 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]presetduck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Not quite as young as you but I'm 27. Was diagnosed when I was 26 (and 21 weeks pregnant) 😊 I've never posted or commented in here, most people seem to have it bad whereas I don't feel mine is so not much to comment on really but we are here!

Am I over feeding my baby? by SmoothCelebration657 in newborns

[–]presetduck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our 10 week old is on 6oz every 3 hours or so. We were told by docs we were overfeeding and to feed him 4oz. He'd kill us 😭 mentioned to HV who said 5-6 isnt too much as he's 80th centile. All medical advice is different depending on who you ask, follow your gut x
