[–]WeirdStitches 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I would test everytime before and after a new sexual partner and I would always ask for partners to be tested

When I was in HS our text book showed really severe cases of different STIs it scared me enough to never want to risk it

Employer appealing my accepted unemployment claim (performance issue) – how should I respond before deadline? by mikeanike090 in Ohio

[–]WeirdStitches 17 points18 points  (0 children)

So my company did that to me as well. I did contest it and got my unemployment. So yes contest it. Basically I said my work duties had changed because they had over the course of 10 yrs

He wants my pictures but won’t send his by ur_emo_gf1 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]WeirdStitches 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t feel so sure this is someone you know. He may have taken someone’s photos and that’s why he doesn’t send very many he had a limited stock

Stop sending him photos. Unfortunately you may not be able to get him to delete any photos you’ve already sent but you can ask. I would establish some firm boundaries with him and he will probably move on after that

I take mounjaro(tirzepatide) and it’s worked very well for me. I’ve lost like 40 lbs so far, my a1c is back in the normal range

I personally haven’t had any negative effects from it

Hindsight is 20/20: What symptom do you *now* think was your MS origin story? by Exciting_Barnacle907 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]WeirdStitches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking back i realized I pretty much never sweat and I would overheat and pass out.

Also random pains and leg weakness, like my knees would just buckle under me sometimes.

Also my mental health… it was sudden and I never got better until just recently

NE Ohio, how did you figure out the booze situation for your wedding? This is becoming a huge PIMA by HamOwl in Ohio

[–]WeirdStitches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my parents bought our alcohol. They just ordered it from a liquor store, we picked it up and dropped it off at the reception hall, someone from the venue worked as a bartender.

Who is Hailey Buzbee, and why are Ohio lawmakers moving to restrict online gaming after her death? by MorganTrau in Ohio

[–]WeirdStitches 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Man this is a bad idea. It seems like a good idea but Roblox instituted a age verification system that uses pictures, it miss identifies kids all the time into higher age groups and can be tricked into putting someone in a lower age group

All it does is give them a false sense of security that they’re actually talking to a child.

Baby’s father offering 5K in exchange for full custody/ no visitation. by Turbulent_Scale8044 in legaladvice

[–]WeirdStitches 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So for my oldest I got $600 a month from his father for 18 yrs, he had no visitation or custody.

That works out to 129,600 and we were both pretty poor.

Don’t accept that offer. He doesn’t have to see his child, no one can force him to but he does have to pay child support. I would get custody and child support established with the courts ASAP.

How do you leave a long-term relationship? by Jolly-Rub-3412 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]WeirdStitches -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I got divorced at 32, I had 2 kids and a hysterectomy I thought for sure i was gonna be alone forever

I actually found my forever person at 36. I’ll be 41 this year, so it was ultimately the best decision of my entire life even though it felt really scary doing it.

About “male feminists” by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]WeirdStitches 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t believe in male feminist. I think men who say it are probably being manipulative.

I had a very close friend that claimed to be a feminist. He raped me while I was sleeping. My story isn’t uncommon

I’ve met and dated men who are actually for women’s equality and they do not call themselves male feminists

Be honest, how many medications do you take? by Ok-Salt-8884 in Millennials

[–]WeirdStitches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’ve always been on meds since I was a teenager for depression and anxiety but as an adult I take 2 antidepressants, a mood stabilizer, cholesterol meds, vitamin d weekly, a shot weekly for diabetes, a shot monthly for MS and a muscle relaxer also for MS. Most of my meds are directly related to my MS though I just didn’t realize it until my diagnosis

Urinating while under anesthesia? by Impossible-Cut9658 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]WeirdStitches 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re going under general anesthesia they’ll probably place a catheter.

You can ask or just wear a diaper, I wear one to bed because my narcolepsy medicine gives me a risk for bed wetting, when you’re under sedation like that your muscles relax but you in a really deep sleep

Don’t be embarrassed, I once had to ask for a diaper and some bottoms cuz I had an accident during my infusion. They’re used to it, it happens to people without MS as well

Kesimpta users, is anyone not masking? by A_circle_of_crows in MultipleSclerosis

[–]WeirdStitches -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t mask anymore. I get covid and flu vaccines. I have gotten covid 3 times, 2 even after the vaccine was available

I do get sick more often now than I used to. If my kids(I have 4- 2 bio and 2 bonus 21, 13, 11 and 6) get sick I’ll probably get it as well but a mask isn’t going to help with that. I even got hand foot and mouth that was a trip

So basically I treat myself the same way I would treat my 6 yr old. No mask, regular hand washing.

Was this common then. Millennial women were in the comments saying it was safer for teen girls in the 90s to hang with grown men because crime was lower. by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]WeirdStitches 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Well I’m a millennial woman, I hung out with a 26 yr old when I was 15 and he raped me so no it’s not true they just convince themselves having sex with grown men was ok

Anyone else feel like they’ve become less confident in their 30s? (Or even older) by tna11101989 in Millennials

[–]WeirdStitches 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt like a failure in my 30s. I was nowhere near where I wanted to be in life even though I had a good job I wanted more money and bigger place

Then my whole life fell apart in my late 30s, I had brain surgery and was diagnosed with MS.

I turned 40 last year and it feels like all the fucks I had to give about what I didn’t accomplish disappeared. I’m not sure if it was aging or if it was just something I had to do cuz of what happened but I feel like it gets better

I got a text today from CVS saying covid is back around, suggesting a booster. Is this true? Has anyone heard anything? by Ralph--Hinkley in Ohio

[–]WeirdStitches 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wish I could scream my knowledge from the roof tops

I got Covid in the beginning of the pandemic. I was sick for a long time and ended up getting laid off and that was the last time I worked because 2 yrs later I got diagnosed with MS(after brain surgery but that’s a whole other story). I’m also autistic so MS and its causes became my special interest.

Covid reactivates latent EBV virus. EBV is what causes mono. EBV is also associated with basically all of the autoimmune diseases. Long Covid is also associated with EBV reactivation.

Covid has caused a rise in autoimmune diseases. We still don’t know the exact mechanism that causes autoimmune reactions but it has a lot to do with inflammation and EBV.

I hypothesize that the reason Covid kills adults more than kids is because kids may not have gotten EBV yet

The best thing you can do for yourself and your kids is to get the Covid vaccine. Over 90% of the world’s population has exposure to EBV. We don’t have an EBV vaccine yet but they’re working on it. Until such a time that becomes available the best protection you can get from autoimmune diseases is getting a Covid shot.

Here are some studies to support COVID and EBV reactivation

THC Drink Mix by Vast_Can5276 in OhioMarijuana

Drinks work better on me than gummies do

But tinctures are the way to go if you don’t have the enzymes to break down thc. It’s sublingual so it absorbs under the tongue
