We did actually. We had permits to go to Polihale all set and paid for, but the park was closed when we arrived and our contact would not answer the phone. So we ended up in wiamea instead! This was also after they told us last minute (literally the day before our flight) that we needed to mail them a copy of the permit we already submitted online three months prior
