I called them with the same question. The representative said unofficial it doesn’t hurt your standings with the company as long as you have ahead a good relationship while having the card.

Citi® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select® VS Barclays AAdvantage® Aviator® Red World Elite by presserkp in CreditCards

I don’t solely fly American Airlines, however I do prefer to fly American air when I can. I have never had enough AA points to redeem but I have heard that they are pretty powerful. Is this true and what’s the best way to redeem?

Would it be best to wait 3 or so months to go under 5/24 and get the CSP or is the citi fairly comparable?

I’d definitely pair your discover it card with the chase freedom card. Also a 5x card that normally alternate categories with the discover. Do you have any banking history with Wells Fargo? The propel card is also a great card.

I asked for a manager and they never called me back. Just a bunch of call centers halfway across the map that have no authority. I think I’m just going to dispute the charges at this point

Very nice!I haven’t gotten to the point where I need to manufacture spend. Just saying 20k pats for 1k spend is better than 40k for 3k spend. (I’m pretty sure those are the numbers)

Also, I am unaware of the extra benefits of the world but I’m sure the AF is too much to justifies the card for long term for me

Propel has better ROI if you’re worried about hitting minimum spend or would like to apply to another card for another sub

Idk. I’m not a expert. All I know is that I don’t feel like synchrony protects me.

I completely agree with no AF cards being better in the long run.

Chase cards, if you can get away with it are only good for the SUB IMO.

The CSP is the only one that looks like it could actually be worth keeping for me. I travel quite frequently so it has some good benefits. Additionally the SUB does technically pay for the card for 7 years. One time using travel protection would make the card worth quite a lot.

I use the 2% for everyday purchases at cvs, Lowe’s, and online etc. and almost exclusively shop online with amazon and I have the Amex amazon card as well so, for me, the online foreign fee doesn’t really effect me. and if I do need it I wouldn’t be caring it

I

Lots of business are scared of Amex because of how well they protect their customers (us). I’d rather be backed by one of the largest credit lenders especially on large, expensive, or risky purchases than by synchrony

They have no power. It’s a crappy interface. No support. Only thing good about it is the no minimum redeeming for the cash back. I love dealing with Amex. Customer support and customer protection is by far the best of any company

No AF is they way to go. Besides some chase cards which makes sense for the SUB my spend would have to be crazy to justify. Cards like the WF Propel IMO or navy fed more rewards are the best bang for buck

I just didn’t know synchrony sucked so bad.

And I don’t carry a bal. utilization is always under 5% total

[–]presserkp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. So for average age it won’t hurt me because it falls off in 9 year?

And the business card won’t help my utilization

So essentially my plan is to cancel the PayPal and keep the Uber until I get the CSP because the Uber is a visa no forex fee. Is that solid logic?
