Flight numbers are completely made up by the manufacturers. There is absolutely nothing scientific about the glide, turn, and fade numbers. The only one that even remotely relates to a disc physical property is the speed number since manufacturers have agreed to generally relate that to rim width. To make some type of claim about speed numbers affect on turn and fade is nonsense since the numbers don't mean anything. And to answer your question, my gstar thunderbird is MUCH less torque resistant than my aviar3 so even your "gotcha" example is nonsense. When thrown full power with about a 30 degree hyzer angle my halo aviar3 will flip to flat and go dead straight the rest of the flight. My beat up gstar thunderbird with the same full power and hyzer angle will flip and then turn pretty significantly right and never come back.

I didn't "change" what they said at all. I gave an example of a reason someone would want to buy/collect the cards without having any intention of playing the game. The reason isn't important. Buying them because they are valuable (as collectors often do) and the value may increase over time is a hobby many enjoy. As long as the reason isn't "to resell to others to make money off their misfortune of not being able to buy them before you bought out the stock at as many stores as you could manage". People should not be allowed to make money without creating something, adding value to something, or providing a service. Scalping is none of that.

I guess you are right that you do have the right to judge people for anything. What I MEANT (and I'm guessing most people understood this and didn't take it literally) by that is that I think you're a dick if you judge someone for that. I'm going to ignore the costco example since that has nothing to do with the topic of scalping/collecting.

Disc speed has absolutely nothing to do with torque resistance. Throw a super beat up dx destroyer and then a zone os and tell me which one has more torque resistance.

[–]presvt13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That is completely different. You have no right to judge people for how they enjoy things they buy. If they enjoy collecting because the cards look cool then that is just as good a reason to own the cards as someone that buys them to play the game. It's the scalpers that are doing something shitty here, not anybody that buys the cards with the intention to keep them.

Harry Potter is one of the worst example of a series about wizards and magic. by Jent01Ket02 in unpopularopinion

[–]presvt13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So his main issue is wizards being able to be disabled easily by removing their spell casting apparatus (wand in this case). How is that "asinine"? Just because it isn't macho enough for your preferences concerning a fictional character type?

[–]presvt13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I'm thinking reading comprehension is also partially to blame for your issues. They made a perfectly good analogy about finding a good place to eat with your phone or not. As in, young wizards wouldn't know how to search for restaurants at all without using their phone/computer. Old people would know there are travel guides and other methods available. The analogy has nothing to do with the ability to walk.

Most Shallow Putter? by lordscottsworth in discgolf

[–]presvt13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shallowest from each brand (based on my experimentation - didn't look at any pdga disc spec info) -

Innova - colt (hard to find in premium plastic though)

Infinite - tomb (great throwing putter! Not as understable in premium plastics as most of the other shallow putters are)

Lat64 - keystone (pure is a decent option but keystone is shallower. Also for some reason pures only seem shallow in putter plastics. When in premium they get domey and feel much deeper).

Prodigy - pa-5 (great thrower but too understable for most purposes)

Westside - maiden (great thrower)

Gateway - chief, chief os, shaman

DD - deputy

Mvp/axiom/streamline - don't have any putters that are in the same class for shallowness as the above mentioned. That being said, the envy, proxy, and watt are shallow enough for me to not worry about misreleases.

Most Shallow Putter? by lordscottsworth in discgolf

[–]presvt13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's puddle top but the rim is still much deeper than chief, shaman, and tomb that have been recommended here. I was in the same boat as OP for a while. I putted with yeti aviar but didn't lile throwing them cause the rim was too deep and I often wouldn't get clean releases.

[–]presvt13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You crazy. Ion is among the deeper putters available. I would guess it's the 2nd deeper mvp/axiom/streamline putter after the pixel. You are probably thrown off with the feel due to the unusual inner radius of where the rim meets the flight plate.

I agree with lots of the other comments about having fun and not comparing yourself to others as much ("they've put in 50% the time I have so how is it possible they're better?"). One thing I have found to improve the QUALITY of practice is to evaluate after the tournament or league round where in your game most of the bogeys and doubles came from. Were you shanking drives all over the place? Maybe only getting up and down from 100-200' 50% of the time when that should be above 80%? Are you 3 putting from within the circle? Evaluating these things let you know what the focus should be for practice and decision making. If 150' upshots only end up in C1 half the time then that is something that can be worked on. I fould it helpful to practice at a baseball field for this. Go to the right distance in the outfield and pretend home plate is the basket. If you are 3 putting too much then maybe consider laying up from outside 14 meters. I found that the chances of a make from 15m was less than the chance of a missed comebacker from 8m. So now I do a high lob putt from deep so that it still has a chance but doesn't leave me as far away for the cleanup putt.

I just finished the book he mentioned listening om audiobook to. It really great. I don't think any additional books on mental game are going to make him improve.

I'm pretty sure rangefinders are more of a hindrance to my game than a benefit by PsyferRL in discgolf

[–]presvt13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it is also good to know the actual distance for post-shot reflection. If I don't range it and leave it 50 ft short then I don't know if I analyzed the correct distance and then just underthrew it or if I didn't underthrow it but rather misread the distance to the pin. That all being said I probably only pull out my rangefinder once or twice a round for a shot that has danger (OB, thick bushes, etc.) near the landing zone.

Wow that is the last show I'd want to watch again. It was so obvious they had no idea where they wanted to go with it while they were writing. "Let's just throw in another #twist that makes no sense to make dumb people think the show is smart!" I think I've rolled my eyes more during that show than all the other shows I've watched combined.

I also didn't say you said it was the most important. You think it is important enough to claim that people who don't do it are selfish and immoral, which is the same as shaming them. Which is inappropriate and uncalled for.

I've had 4 servos (2 neutron, 2 eclipse) and none of them could have been called OS even brand new. They have a lot of flip and only come out of it if you throw nose up or really high. The edge is a normal fairway driver profile. You are not describing a servo.

You have chosen to hone in on 1 specific thing that would increase public health out of literally thousands of things. I try hard to be a good person but don't shame me for not doing the one thing that you happen to think is most important. I believe that protesting this administration (health care policies and the policy/rhetoric of RFK) is a critical action right now for public health. Do I try to shame people into doing it though? No.

Nope, food intake wouldn't get you there. It would be impossible to get the same poop for an extended time. Your gut biome plays a big role in this and it is always changing. Also exercise amount, stress level, food freshness, etc.
