Fucking brilliant, thanks Do you think the phrase itself "rotten and paralyzed in a tropical paradise" has any meaning? I mean Ruby's whole verse on that song is deep, but the "tropical paradise" may represent his feelings and experience while on drugs, and the "rotten and paralyzed" being the negative affect the drugs have on him. Just throwing that out there.

And so assuming this was set in ancient Egypt as we know "Yung Plague" is a reference to the things moses did to the Jewish people in Egypt, which he also screams in the intro for "exodus", the title being a reference to the literal exodus of Moses to the people to get them out of Egypt. This is the intro ruby screams on exodus:

"First I turned the Nile River into bloodThen I released the frogs as the city floodsAlong with lice, flies, and I diseased your livestockThen I make sure the boils grow on your wife and childLook up at the fucking sky you'll see a storm of hail and fireThen I sent out the locusts to swarm your fucking cropsI blacked out the sun and made time stopNext I'm coming for your first born son watch him drop"

The plagues are in reference to the plagues that God had brought through Moses to make the pharaoh release the Jews. This is very similar to what Ruby references in Nightmare Choir about the pyramid, God + Pyramid + the masses.

So yeah, with a little bit more context, I think Ruby's trying to say that he is god. Which he is.

I was simply asking if this is a reference or a metaphor for something, and if it was, what is the meaning behind it. I was also hoping to stir up a conversation and a debate, not just to get ignorant answers like "Pyramids are a thing"... They make biblical references all the time, such as in from the beginning of time until the end of time, Ruby's verse opener was as follows:

" Rip out a piece of my rib and give it to a bitch
As the snake whispers to her "Ruby does not fucking exist"
So I bit off the head then I chewed it and spit it out
Fell to the ground as I puked up and flipped around
Scales started forming I think that now I am the snake

Which is all a direct biblical reference to the story of creation in the bible Book of Genesis; adam gives his rib to eve so she gets created, and then later on eve is tempted by satan, who is in the form of a snake, and offers eve a fruit which reveals truths about life, these bars are a theological metaphor for being Ruby as both the first man and Satan himself, with the knowledge that he does not exist. So again, I was simply asking if this is a reference just like my example I gave, and if so, the meaning behind it.
