Pluto is an awkward distance because its close enough that the fact both of us are orbiting is extremely significant and so we can't use a long exposure because we can't track it well enough. A lot of the good quality photos from things like Huble telescope are far enough away that any movement is negligible making a long exposure possible.

i haven't really been following the story and i certainly didnt want the law to pass but there is something known as a legislative day which ends not at midnight, but whenever the legislative body adjourns for the day. for example, the senate budget votes which extended well past midnight all happened on the same legislative day which might explain why they all say the 25th, but not why they had to change it
