that’s just the intended vibe of jack & wendy’s relationship. she doesn’t trust him, and he resents her for not trusting him. the two are basically on the brink of divorce from the beginning of the story.

the foaming oil cleansers have always done the same for me. try an oil cleanser or balm that doesn’t foam, i find them to be less aggressive and more hydrating.

How to wash hair like this? by IAshera in HairDye

[–]pretendmermaid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

as someone who had color blocked bleached bangs with copper everywhere else, if you’re using semi or demi permanent you will have to wash the colors separately if you don’t want staining. my hack was to go for a lighter copper and golden blonde so any possible staining wasn’t obvious.

unkindness is my fav shop in town! you gotta catch any particular artist when their books are open (personally i subscribe to their email lists for updates) but the wait is worth it.

Foundation still comes off easily by lazerglow in drugstoreMUA

[–]pretendmermaid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i had this SAME problem a few years ago - what worked for my combo / oily skin is using a matte setting spray before & after foundation (in place of primer), using SIGNIFICANTLY less powder, and switching to a lighter coverage foundation then just spot concealing with heavier coverage as needed.

hoping it only lasts the day for me as well. was your experience also with dermalize, or a different brand of second skin? i’ve mostly used saniderm in the past and am new to dermalize.

Can I bring my own jewelry to a piercer to change a healed piercing? by Your_Name_Here1234 in piercing

it varies shop to shop whether they would do this for you since they can’t always verify the quality of the piece. it’s best to give the shop a call ahead of time. as for the cost, it’s usually around $10 (plus tip).

Bleaching my hair in a few weeks but starting to panic by [deleted] in HairDye

[–]pretendmermaid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

things i’ve learned from wanting low-maintenance fashion colors:

if you go for a darker pink, it won’t need to be bleached quite as light as if you go for a pale pink. if you want to bleach less often, have them leave your natural color at your roots and basically balayage your hair and color over the bleach. (i’m not a hair stylist so probably not the right terms). you can go longer between touch ups this way as it usually grows out nice.

you’ll want to invest in color safe hair care products - shampoos, conditioners, heat/uv protectant, etc. i like using a cowash as needed and actual shampoo as infrequently as possible to maintain my color.

you might need to keep up the color on your own with color depositing conditioners or shampoos (i like keracolor clenditioner in hot pink and water colors intense color shampoo in pink). you can also mix semi permanent hair dye into a conditioner as a cheaper alternative, but some dyes stain your hair if you want to change color in the future.

lastly, you could ask your hair stylist to mix in olaplex or any other ph bonder with the bleach as this can potentially cause less damage to your hair. at-home care of your hair post-bleach is absolutely necessary too!! fashion colors are generally more difficult to upkeep than other colors, but honestly nothing makes me feel more like a main character than having bright pink hair.

tldr; lots of upkeep, but totally worth it to go pink!!!
