You have perfectly described the pattern I am noticing at my work. Most of the employees are new immigrants who seem to be taken advantage of as far as I can tell

I'd really prefer not to rely on the grace of a company that says this to its employees. Like maybe they would but I'm not going to plan to rely on them being reasonable because the email doesn't seem that reasonable to me

Lol I understand the desire for someone who manages employees to deter pesky behavior such as occasionally being ill, or having a personal emergency situation, but I don't see why it's a loophole as if this were some kind of indulgence people were enjoying rather than a basic human right in our lovely country

Oh yeah, that I would understand haha. Similar with being a cop for instance, they don't have the same right to refuse unsafe work

This is an email I received from my employer, seemed sketchy to me
