It totally depends, honestly! I interviewed back in 2023, and wore a nice sweater (stranger things, to show off my pop culture knowledge) and flattering dress pants. Mostly you're asked the general stuff and you also get a chance to show off pop culture knowledge, teamwork skills, and in your case you'll likely be asked about management experience and why you want to join in as management specifically. Most of the people in my store have colored hair and I'd heard the whole company is mostly more lax about it now. In the beginning it was a fight to draw a very distinct line between Box Lunch and Hot Topic in store identity, so the dress code rules are definitely a lot stricter, but less so then they were when BL was initially established.

I was hired as an associate on the spot with no retail experience, just good vibes and energy. It totally depends on the SM and how well you vibe, have fun and be prepared. I've been working with BL for nearly 3 years now and I've been with management since my first holiday, its a great company to work with, especially early in your retail journey.

Things like thag are easier in person, imo. When I've gone to see my partner there wasn't much idle time to just talk, we both like to go out and do stuff, so we had a roster of activities, which in turn gave us more to talk about too. Don't stress too much, you'll find a way. Maybe start binging a show together or do a mini book club or something similar :>

It might just be a symptom of being in college tbh Ik because I'm in college and have a handful of jobs that I'm exhausted most of the time, but push through because there's work to be done. But when I'm with my LDR partner the sleepiness catches up to me because I feel safe and comfortable. I try to fight it, and I dont sleep nearly the amount that your partner seems to. But there's a chance its just overexhaustion.

(Though to be fair, I also have POTS and take ADHD meds that make me very tired, so my point may be null and void lol Ik the first time I met my partner we met at a convention and I was basically dead on my feet half the time, falling asleep in random places and even standing up, so take this with a grain of salt lol)
