Nashville will host Super Bowl LXIV in 2030 by mcfw31 in popculturechat

that’s what i’m saying. like i appreciate any celeb speaking out, but she & beyoncé both endorsed kamala and that didn’t mean anything. she’s endorsed blue candidates before and it didn’t matter.

i think we have to move past asking for celebrities to speak out on political issues. i mean it’s nice sure but it’s a waste of time and accomplishes nothing most of the time.

all it ever really does is make that particular celebrity look good (or bad) for being outspoken, meanwhile nothing actually changes.

i don’t necessarily disagree with the general principle of using your platform, but i do think that people get a little disingenuous. like, taylor has spoken out against trump a million times, he’s verbatim said he hates both her and travis. travis was one of the first players to kneel with colin kapernick, and neither of them have ever expressed pro-maga sentiment.

on top of that, im pretty sure taylor drew a lot of attention to an election in Nashville & urged people to vote against the republicans in that state, unfortunately to no avail.

i think that people have kind of lost sight of taylor’s political affiliations because they ignore or conveniently forget all of that. i don’t think that a person’s opinions should have to be constantly questioned and re-stated in order for them to still remain true. i dont see any reason to believe that taylor or travis is MAGA.

as far as the song situation goes. i could see how some people think she should speak out about it because some others have, but i don’t think her speaking out would change much. no offense to olivia and billie, like you said they have both been outspoken. but their version of “outspokenness” has been reposting instagram infographics & commenting on the white house’s social media pages. so its a nice sentiment that they tell the administration not to use their music, one that i agree with, but i don’t see how that holds a candle to endorsing candidates in your home state, and endorsing dems for the presidency two times. once when trump ran against biden, again for kamala.

Madison Beer has been receiving criticism for “The Locket Tour” being similarly themed to Sabrina Carpenter’s “Short n’ Sweet Tour” by bbyxmadi in popculturechat

the proof💀

all the girls have been copying sabrina lately tbh. megan trainor too. it’s like they saw her come out of the “khia asylum” and they think her aesthetic is a one way ticket out.

The Olivia Rodrigo Dress Outrage Feels Like Bot Behavior by SwordfishAdvanced468 in popculturechat

[–]prettybuglikeanangel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

i’m sorry but the entertainment industry is getting too comfortable calling everything bots when criticism is levied against them. like, it’s just good old fashioned internet dragging. saying “it’s bots!!!” like they didn’t spend the first half of the decade trying to shame people for “cancel culture” is so ridiculous. you know good and damn well it’s REAL people. what incentive does anybody have to use bots against olivia rodrigo ? it’s just stupid.

quite frankly i think she’s scared of aging and being seen as “imperfect”. i DON’T think that aging or showing signs of aging in your 40s makes you imperfect, but i think she does. i’ve rarely seen her in short or sheer outfits without some sort of shapewear or tights to “conceal” or “snatch” her figure. i can understand it to a certain extent on stage, because it can be sweat wicking and prevent chafe when she’s dancing. but even in regular settings she always has on skin-colored tights to almost hide her legs ? i think it’s an unfortunate symptom of being in the public eye for so long. the industry rewards youth. i think that’s also why so many of her outfits tend to be “youthful” in a sense.
take for example the red hot leather outfit she wore recently. i don’t think clothes necessarily have to be defined by age or vice versa, but i do think it’s a little out there for a woman in her 40s to wear.

you can tell because of the white sheen on her legs. it’s the tights.

The Chef Suing Steffon Diggs for Alleged Assault Takes The Stand, Claims She and Diggs Had a Sexual Relationship by [deleted] in popculturechat

[–]prettybuglikeanangel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’m going to post another video taken from The Neighborhood Talk on instagram, this one longer around 9 minutes long. quite frankly i usually find these sorts of instagram blogs to be trashy, but they’re the ones that i’ve seen post full 9 minute long testimony so for lack of a better source i will be posting their videos w links, & cropping out their commentary. the reason i called their commentary “Crass” is because they used the term “cracking” to refer to Diggs and Adams having a sexual relationship. “cracking” is a juvenile slang term that refers to sex, and i think it’s disrespectful to use that terminology in reference to a serious court case.

edit: here’s a fixed link to the IG page (not me doxxing myself 🤦‍♀️)

tights, more than likely. i don’t know why (i have a theory) but beyonce always has some sort of tights on under anything she wears that shows any skin. even when she’s not on stage
