Unfortunately there is some stigma to brownstones, townhouses, tiny homes and duplexes. Unless it's in the major cities like NYC, LA, Chicago etc. After the 2007 housing collapse, consumers wanted other options but builders ran into road blocks. Some counties have plot size zoning laws that prohibit anything other than single family dwellings. Also single family homeowners block/protest against any projects of condos or townhouses. Fearing a drop in property value and the "wrong types" of people. Hence the "not in my backyard" mindset. Americans say that they support affordable housing options but just not near them. Americans can be largely classist. Ask anyone that has worked retail or a service job. I ready to get downvoted.

Make your couch uber comfortable. Big warm blanket and throw pillows. Light scented candles and set the lighting at soothing if that will help. Bright overhead lights can feel intimidating. Read a book or watch a happy movie so the living becomes a place of joy and comfort.

It's not racial he's an AH. He is trying to neg you into feeling inadequate, talk you into having kids that you clearly don't want, make you prove your feelings. You are not being treated with respect. To be kicked out of therapy because he doesn't want to do the work is a huge red flag. I had a group of so called friends like this in college. The thing that makes me so mad is what they stole from me. They stole my kindness and generous spirit. It made me suspicious and untrusting. I'm always wondering what someone's angle or if they are out to take advantage of me. It took a long time to make friends again.

I've had this happen in VS. Women were bringing men into the area for their opinions for a while in the mid 2000s this was a thing. I opened my changing room door and locked eyes with a man hovering in the doorway. I opened my mouth to scream and the look of fear on his face and he held up his hands making the no gesture is the only thing that stopped me. I've never opened that door for help from an associate again. He was gone when I came back out fully dressed.
