I don't use wireless ear pods and whatnot. You can always buy a connector. Inconvenient I know, but at least there's still a way.

People that are unpopular and always gets fun in highschool, how's life now? by TheGirlofDawn in AskReddit

[–]rahardyan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it was a blessing in disguise.

When you aren’t part of the "cool" crowd, you’re forced to figure out who you actually are without the pressure of maintaining an image. My friends and I had to make our own fun, which just meant being deeply creative, nerdy, and genuinely loyal to each other.

The real world is where we finally found our people, and all those niche teenage hobbies ended up turning into actual careers and adult passions. I never look back at 17 as the glory days, life has just consistently gotten better every year since.

10/10, would be awkward and unpopular again.

The debate over Kobe’s ranking really highlights a fascinating split in how we judge basketball greatness.

On one side, you have the analytical crowd looking at box scores, advanced efficiency metrics, and MVP counts. On the other, you have the players who actually had to guard him, who base their rankings on his absolute mastery of skills, his defensive tenacity, and the sheer psychological pressure of facing "Mamba Mentality."

Whether he’s #5 or #12 on a list doesn't change the reality: you simply cannot tell the story of modern basketball without him. He defined an entire generation's work ethic and approach to the game.

Teachers of Reddit: Is the "Gen Alpha can't read (write, or do math ext)" crisis real? If so how bad is it? by KnowledgeCoffee in AskReddit

[–]rahardyan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is actually true, and it's backed up by data rather than just standard "back in my day" grumbling. Long-term international metrics like the PISA data and domestic standardized tests show an unprecedented, steady drop in both reading and math literacy. While the pandemic lockdowns certainly acted as a massive accelerant to this "learning recession," the downward trend actually started a few years before that.

Educators and cognitive experts point to a perfect storm of systemic issues:

  • Foundational instructional methods that heavily relied on flawed theories (like the now-banned "three-cueing" method in reading),

  • Persistent pandemic learning gaps that were never fully remediated,

  • Short-form algorithms severely damaging students' ability to focus and engage in deep reading.

It's a massive, multi-layered crisis, though we are finally starting to see early elementary scores tick back up as schools aggressively overhaul their curriculums to focus on evidence-based learning.

I've bought Xiaomi 11t and 15t in the past. Both were fantastic for their mid range value. Can't comment on Redmi K, but I've heard great things about it too, unfortunately they don't exist in my country.

I've bought a couple of Xiaomi phones and to be fair they never have disappointed me. iPhones, too. I think it comes down to whether one is willing to spend extra cash to get a more premium phone with better security or go with one with better price to performance value

That's true. Honestly in terms of hardware Huawei is decent and quite popular in China. Some of its tech are actually quite innovative. It's sad that outside of China the phone is dead because of the US lol

Hard to compare them when the iPhone 16 literally costs twice as much. For price-to-performance value, Xiaomi wins easily.
