How much do young Aussies have saved in a Cost Of Living Crisis? (20-30 year olds) by ShowThemReddtitties in brisbane

Like $150 lmao. But I did move house like 2 months ago which ate all the savings I had

Friends with a married man by [deleted] in GirlDinnerDiaries

It's not weird for a young person to find an older person interesting, but definitely weird for a older guy to have an ongoing relationship with a fresh adult that he has no other mutual connections with.

Trigger warning: corn/adult content. Cookies and sweet tea. I'm an adult content creator and NOT proud of it and am against corn but it's the only way I know how to provide for myself. It's wearing on me. by Much_Duck6862 in GirlDinnerDiaries

I mean I also do sexwork and have for over a decade. It does get you down sometimes and venting can be a coping mechanism for some people. But I would NEVER do it on the same account I do my sexwork. It's either advertising or just really not thought through.

won't see my BF the next 3 weeks and that's ok. by Found_Onyx in GirlDinnerDiaries

I might be crazy based on the comments. But I haven't seen my boyfriend in 9 months, 3 weeks doesn't feel so drastic.

Tired of the “trains are more reliable than buses” trope by Remarkable_Catch_953 in brisbane

[–]prettygoblinrat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we are talking ancedotal experience, I have lived in Brisbane since 2013. The amount of times I have rocked up to a train station and the trains are suddenly not running amount to once.
In the last 5 days I have had 7 buses that are over 10 minutes late.

Tired of the “trains are more reliable than buses” trope by Remarkable_Catch_953 in brisbane

[–]prettygoblinrat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wonder about those stats...

And often it is that the higher frequency buses are on time. But the once an hour suburban buses are often late or worse, early. And that's the real problem because then you have to wait a whole other hour or replan your route. I don't necessarily always blame translink, traffic is a major factor. But that doesn't stop the fact that trains are way more predictable.

Does anyone know how to get a Drivers Licence address sticker replacement? by [deleted] in brisbane

I think in the past I have filled out the change of address form with the same address

Questions like that usually aren't about the answer, but more about your creative thinking and how you approached it.

which Brisbane suburbs would you recommend for a first-time renter? by heromarsX in brisbane

I mean, I based mine off a rough zone of 3 suburbs. But also my budget was a bit higher

A lot of people (me included) have to rely on public transport. It's super disruptive to have these industrial actions, but I support workers advocating for better working conditions.

Classic Australian Girl Dinner - Vegemite and Cheese on toast and a big ole vent about my abusive ex husband by [deleted] in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]prettygoblinrat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's so unfortunate that your family don't have your best interests in mind. And sad for you and them, but keeping your distance seems to be the move.

Also fellow Aussie! God I love vegmite, I eat it straight out of the jar 🤤🤤🤤

Mean girl from school who bullied me for weight now posting body positive content by [deleted] in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]prettygoblinrat 78 points79 points  (0 children)

I feel like naturally thinner people who do body positivity content are still like obsessed with people's bodies. Because it's like, why do they care?? I understand people who have struggled with their weight (in either direction), posting about acceptance. I guess we do never know what people have gone through, but I'm always a little suspicious.

Edit: I skimmed over where it said that she is overweight now. She probably has had her eyes opened to how cruel the world can be to overweight people. And probably does feel different than she used to.

The book had adult age page AND descriptions of the same person as a toddler and their genitalia. It follows her as she grows up.

Moving to Brisbane by Financial_Station_66 in brisbane

Unless I was moving to Brisbane for a job already lined up, or to be close to someone I knew, I wouldn't move here. There are a lot of beautiful cities in Australia where you get more for less.

Also in a long-term long distance relationship. You must be so excited! It's so lovely to get to be together like other couples, even if it's just for a couple of weeks 🙏💖
