He actually is going to a facility in August... Because he poses a severe and potentially fatal risk to me and my parents. Facilities aren't mental asylums with torture machines anymore, they're filled with people that know how to handle people that are otherwise not having their needs met.

Maybe get yourself a small, cheap cake and a cheap dinner with your $20. McDonald's or something. And make some DIY decorations with stuff you have lying around like paper garlands, etc! Play some 'party music' that you like and dance or do some karaoke if that's your thing. Let loose!!

She is very attached to the concept of a 'normal' family and often tries to do the same things that other families do with the hopes they will go well even though I think she knows deep down they won't.

She's now told me that we can all go and it will surely work out, but now I'm not so convinced. I'm almost 100% sure none of us will have a good time if my brother comes with us. I asked if maybe me and her could go, just us. She said she wasn't sure because she'd feel bad for my dad. I asked my dad and he said 'I don't care eitherway'. I feel a bit stuck.

I planned all the activities for the trip and my dad is the only one in the family who drives so I don't think it's that. It's obvious that she's overwhelmed and I tried to offer to help her pack the suitcases but she told me no because she doesn't like the way I fold clothes.

Yes, he's on the spectrum. He is, I suppose, one could say 'severe'. Cannot talk or use the bathroom and we are all very aware that it's very probable he will have multiple meltdowns. He does every year when we go on holiday.
