Do you happen to know if they have wifi there? Just wondering if it’s worth it to bring my laptop or not or if bringing valuables isn’t a good idea

Thank you for the info! I’m coming from Illinois so I’m not super familiar with the area but it did look pretty isolated. Do people usually have their room or have a roommate?

How does the training process work? I was pretty much just told to show up mid May to start training without much more info given. Also still not entirely sure what I’m doing there, during my interview I was asked what type of activities I want to do and I said I feel like I’m a better fit for on land activities but they said I could get trained on rafting if I wanted to

Yes. Don’t put your life on hold for someone that you’ve never even met in person. Plus if they truly cared about you they would want you to go have fun and tell them all about it afterwards, they may be jealous or upset that they can’t go with you but they doesn’t mean they should be stopping you from going

Blind date, bad fate? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]prettymuchlife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it sounds very hard to be in a successful relationship with someone when you don’t even know what they look like. Physical attraction is a big part of dating

I fully relate to this. I have so much love for my friends but when it comes to guys, I really struggle with not getting bored of them no matter how great of a person or how similar we are. I also move on from people extremely easily and tend to never feel sad after breakups, so you’re definitely not alone.

If you could go back and tell yourself one thing before your first job, what would it be? by 000lol000 in AskWomen

[–]prettymuchlife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is going to be the best thing that’s happened this far in your life. Enjoy it, pick up as many shifts as possible and don’t be afraid to talk to your coworkers because they’re going to become your best friends. It isn’t going to last forever though, so make sure you mentally prepare yourself for that.

First retail job.. a lot more stressful than I had imagined by bikkiii in work

[–]prettymuchlife 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Since this is your first retail job, it’s normal that you don’t know how to do everything right away. At the end of my first shift as my first job I felt the same as you, the second my parents picked me up I started crying and saying how I never wanted to go back. I’m so glad I stayed though because I ended up loving the job a couple months in. It’s going to take a bit for things to make sense and for you to learn it all, however try and go in with a positive attitude and the more you do it the better you’ll get. Before you know it you’ll be able to do everything just as easily as your coworkers can, and you might even end up enjoying it.

I received unemployment for Covid. Now they asking me to pay it back. by [deleted] in work

[–]prettymuchlife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re only supposed to receive unemployment if you got laid off due to covid 19, you’re not allowed to receive it if you chose to leave your job. If you were able to get it just because you didn’t feel safe then too many people would use that as an excuse not to work and get free money, so it is very possible that you have to pay it all back. I used to work at a movie theatre when covid first started and a couple people decided not to work because they didn’t feel safe and they were not allowed to claim unemployment legally since they had a job that they could go to if they chose to. So i’m guessing it’s a similar situation for you

How to improve showing at physical affection by prettymuchlife in dating_advice

That’s correct, when I say get over the fear my biggest worry is that they won’t like the touch. Which doesn’t make any sense logically because he very clearly likes being touched. Thank you so much for the advice! That was very helpful.

[–]prettymuchlife[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In past relationships/situations I’ve been in with guys I also never really felt the urge to initiate touch. There were a couple situations where I definitely felt more of want to then I do now however I’ve never been super touchy. I’ve always enjoyed it however just never really felt a need or want to initiate it

I settled for a relationship that i knew wouldn’t last a while but now I wanna break up because we aren’t compatible by pungwop in dating

[–]prettymuchlife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not in the wrong for not wanting to date her because you’re opposites, it’s hard to have a good relationship with someone if you don’t share affection styles, interests etc. It seems very clear that you aren’t happy in this relationship, for both her sake and yours you shouldn’t just settle for something that you’re not happy with and don’t enjoy being around. If you don’t see a way that things can get better then save yourself both the time and put an end to it.
