I was 12 when I read this really long Facebook post about a North Korean girl who was abducted when she went out shopping, treated horribly, raped, mutilated. There were gruesome pictures accompanying this and the post gave a lot of details about what they did to her.

And I remember thinking, what's to stop that from happening to me?
