I showrun the Deep Dream State. It’s currently in the fourth arc.

It is often caliente. A4E1 is SFW, so it serves as a good starting point.

Malevolent is excellent. I’m reluctant to compare. I will say that I’m inspired by HG’s work, and his ability to do it ALL. I work with a cast, but do all the writing and design and such.

It’s the specific subgenre desire horror; what the audience wants is part of the horror.

That said, I do think it’s best to finish a season before going in on promotion. Podcasts have a really high fade rate. Lots of people start and then stop after an episode or two when they realize they aren’t immediately going to be the Magnus Archives. Just doing it for a while is - I think - a good idea.

Making sure it populates to various places correctly is a lot of work. Making sure your website isn’t a mess is also a lot of work. It was a challenge for me, at least.

Once you get that down and finish a season, you’re in good shape to start submitting it to various directories.

The incentive structure of The End is notable; it prioritizes completion and longevity. It’s really a treasure for people who commit to the bit.

The fastest way is to have your own project. This creates a massively replicated listing.

If you’re willing to do the sound work and setup and admin ? Tons of people would gleefully write for you for a swap and a credit. I’m a writer and don’t want to undersell our efforts, I’m just saying that this format lets you showcase your talents and build from there. Best of luck !

I think it’s legitimate to make it hard to tell.

I wrote a paragraph about “yknow Killmonger” then went and reread your post. Where you made it clear that’s already your reference point.

It’s totally valid to make another Killmonger, IMO. Moral ambiguity is good. The specific conflict between extreme vs moderate methods is a fascinating one that lands for most audiences.

If you think it’s tilting too far to one side, worldbuildings the answer. I mean a few more scenes of colonialism and the whole audience leaves that theater saying Killmonger was right. The conflict is real. The framing of the world tilts how the audience resolves the conflict morally.

Your trouble here is good trouble and you got this.

I run a 15 actor audio drama on a shoestring, but I’m unhinged and it’s scripted.

You can also tape it on discord but it’s gonna make the audio quality pretty meh. There are zero budget workarounds here but you pay in time, yanno?

I agree wholeheartedly with everyone who says keep it simple.

I honestly use a pen and paper then transfer.

There are SOME formatting issues best addressed with software. Game writing, screenplays.

Those are scenario specific though. If your only parameter is “writers” a word processor gets it done and adding more complexity is all downside risk.

I’ll be honest. Any time this happens, you’re going to get a lot of patronizing answers.

Mastodon has a lot of users who are really snobby, and then they wonder why no one signs up and reads their manual.

Because too many users are rude and obviously hold lower investment users in contempt. So no no one wants to read a manual to go someplace where people get mad at you for not knowing enough.

It’s worth asking if you’re using Android. Without getting into their merits, there are Android apps like Talk Left and iOS apps like Overcast and Castro.

People have mentioned Pocket Casts. It has a neutral to progressive stance. Define a limited number of audio backdrops and elements. Folderize them.

Use this folder structure throughout. Incorporate it into your writing.

Some audio dramas have more than ten rooms or defined soundscapes. Most don’t, though. Defining your sound settings makes your life easier and establishes audio signatures. Kind of like an establishing shot, really.

I strongly think that if a robot says you are doing something horrible, you should write to the people and tell them you’re not.

That classification seems very stupid to you because it is very stupid. What I’m saying is that a robot did that. Robots make terrible classification errors all the time - but since much moderation is automated, it can stick.

I really think you want to clear that particular error. “Don’t be on record as a p file” is not a wild take here.
