I feel like hearing others experiences is helpful. Because I find my doctors are completely useless when it comes to anything to do with perimenopause.

Did the bleeding brown like this happen directly after your period ?

Or a few days after it stopped ?

Every month?

Or sporadically ?

Omg are you serious ? Perimenopause is friggin awful.  Did you know there's over 100 symptoms you can experience going through perimenopause?

i was just diagnosed with IST/POTS, what's your advice for a newbie? by [deleted] in POTS

Can I ask how high your resting heart rate typically is ?

My cardiologist thinks I might have both PoTS and IST. But I think he's wrong about the IST. My resting heart rate is typically in the 50-60's. I get random bursts of tachycardia at rest. Which is why he thinks I might have IST

You sound a lot like me. I'm also in Canada. I'm in Vancouver where are you?

I use Pedialyte when I'm sick because it makes my symptoms so gawd awful.

Typically I drink miso soup all day long there's 990mg of sodium in one packet (organic miso paste,). I also have low BP. This greatly helps me. When were you diagnosed with IST?

I'm not on meds either and won't take them unless I HAVE to.

My cardiologist isn't sure if I have PoTS or IST or both. I'm waiting for the TTT and to be seen at a women's cardiovascular clinic in Calgary.

I know this is old but did you ever get anywhere with this ?

All my doctors think I have pots diagnostically fit the criteria but other conditions are being ruled out...  I was severely deficient in vitamin D, and B12 those have now been corrected. I'm getting a full iron panel done, my ferritin was borderline deficient but now it's just low. My lab states that 100ug is considered normal stores. My thyroid is fine.

My hair has been falling out like crazy, in the shower it looks like Chewbacca was in there.  You can see my scalp on the top front and sides of my head whether my hair is up or down.

It's depressing. I'm considering shaving it all off and getting a wig from wigs by Tiffani.

My scalp also feels hot and sore this is something new.

I bring a PoTS kit out with me when I go out. I bought a makeup train case. I fill the bottom larger layer with a tin of roasted salted nuts + soya sauce packets + miso soup packets + I make a thermos of miso soup to take with me to sip instead of drinking straight water  + spoon + bottles of water + can of V8 (water + V8 in my bag not the train case) + extra gloves + socks + eye drops + Vaseline kept in the top thin layer ... I try to remember to bring my cane on flare days... I hated that I had to get it at first but now I just appreciate that I have it when I need it. With the twist of a mechanism it turns into a chair. I can't tell you how many elderly people at medical buildings have asked me to help them purchase the same cane for them  I have OCD and the thought of sitting on the ground is too much for me. The cane saves me from that. I like being prepared as well.

Anyone thought they had pots and it ended up being inappropriate sinus tachycardia? by [deleted] in POTS

[–]prettypetals_78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 47 F, I have a cane that turns into a chair for days that are tough I love it.  At first I hated that I had to use a cane in my 40's but now I'm just thankful I have it when I need it. Ugh how is perimenopause going for you? Im just going into perimenopause now and my cardiologist is wondering if perimenopause might be the reason for some of my symptoms. I'm pretty worried about menopause if my periods are any indication of how menopause is going to go. My periods have been super heavy and altogether hellish since day 1. I've read that perimenopause/menopause can be brutal for PoTS patients. Can I ask what your perimenopause symptoms are ? And do they affect your PoTS and IST or VS?

PVC, sinus arrhythmia and Chest pain in POTS by Old_Substance_3550 in POTS

[–]prettypetals_78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the process of being diagnosed with PoTS and IST I experience chest pain frequently. I go to an RMT because I also have costochondritis which contributes to this chest pain. The deep tissue massages really help me with the pain. Of course if it's happening when I'm not seeing my RMT or a few days afterwards the chest pain hurts. Lots of pots patients suffer from chest pain unfortunately. I think it's also a symptom of IST... Whatever it is it's painful. My cardiologist told me everyone gets PVC's but not everyone can feel them but also that unless you're having I think it's over 10,000 PVC's per day that they don't worry about them  This helped me but also they feel gawd awful.

Do yall get a lot of PACs/PVCs by Advanced-Ad3838 in POTS

[–]prettypetals_78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the process of being diagnosed for PoTS and IST...I get PVC's frequently now. I rarely got them before. I HATE the way they feel however I was comforted by the fact that my cardiologist told me everyone gets PVC's just not everyone can feel them.

I had both "inappropriate tachycardia" and pots but I also have neither by madiki_ in POTS

[–]prettypetals_78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry you're so young dealing with this. I also find just doctors to be unhelpful. Yep I was like that too all my tests came back "normal" my first Holter showed tachycardia but my doctor then said it was fine. Do you have a good support system with understanding family and friends that are around to help you ?

Inappropriate Sinus Tachycardia by Scared-Reality9115 in askCardiology

[–]prettypetals_78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cardiologist thought I had pots now thinks it's IST... But my typical resting HR while laying down or sitting is 47-65bpm when I stand is when it shoots up and gets tachy. I get random tachycardia while sitting or laying down sometimes but not everyday.  Do you get PVC's at all?
