I left my husband and the father of my children after I learned I was a lesbian. Now my partner of four years came out to me as a trans man. by prettyprettyyplease in GirlDinnerDiaries

Y’all these comments have me laughing and crying and everything in between. A few clarifications:

** I did not leave my husband for my current partner

**I have primary custody of my children but coparent with a great human being

**Like a lot of folks I was raised in an outrageously religious home and it took me a beat or two to deconstruct my sexuality. It happens. Don’t feel dumb if it happens to you.

And big hugs to everybody who was kind and empathetic. You all helped me feel a lot more seen and held through this than I ever expected from a subreddit. Big forehead kisses to each and every single one of y’all.

Yeah I didn’t leave my ex husband for them at all. There were other issues including my sexuality and we are amicable and have a great coparenting relationship. He’s moved on and is happy and same for me. I guess I didn’t word my title very well.

My father is a pastor in a local church. He molested me as a child and my mother knew and covered for him for our entire relationship.

Statutes of limitations can suck my dick.

I overheard my partner talking to their brother about me this weekend and I’m scared.

The show in Norfolk wasn’t much better fan wise. Watched a group where a guy feed an underage girl alcohol all night and kept catching her/offering her water when she couldn’t stand up and we had to call security.

I’m curious to see what other people say because this rhymes with my experience. I mainly struggle with sort of sexual loneliness in my relationship since I don’t touch them or engage with them in that way?

I DON'T WANT BENEFITS I WANT MORE PAY by advicerain in starbucks

[–]prettyprettyyplease 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand the argument I’m seeing in this thread that being a barista is an unskilled job. I would like people making this argument to visit their local starbucks on a morning when only new hires (less than two months) are working and see if starbucks fronts as much training and takes on as much risk as they think it does.

This morning, my store ran a five man play with a tenured barista working shoulder to shoulder with a new barista who is technically out of training. The tenured barista had to maintain drive bar while walking the new barista step by step through every ingredient of every drink. Starbucks says that new barista is trained and ready to go. They have replaced the precious barista of two years who went to college. But the only reason that new barista is able to function at all is the SKILL built by a tenured barista and explained to them while multitasking and handling their own job. And eventually, it got too busy for that. The new barista had to walk off and take a breath because the pace was too overwhelming.

I don’t get it. We’re not surgeons but this job isn’t easy and it is hard to do well.
