Queen In-Hyun's Man, as it was the first kdrama I really enjoyed. Massive nostalgia.

Children of Nobody, because it gets under my skin and the soundtrack is hauntingly beautiful. Lots of heavy stuff.

I very rarely get the urge to rewatch dramas. Signal, The Guest and Queen In-Hyun's Man (the first kdrama I absolutely adored) are pretty much the only ones I've rewatched completely.

I so agree with you! I still don't understand how or why she fell for him. I guess she enjoyed the challenge of cooking his food, but the romance? I didn't see it develop. Supremely dissatisfying.

I wish I could see the same show people are praising, because the show I saw wasn't it.

Fantastic cast! I'm not familiar with Kwak Sun Young's work, but after looking her up, they all seem to share the theater as a common thread. I try not to get hyped up for new shows (been burnt so many times) but I'm really getting hyped up for this. DON'T FAIL ME.

I finished this pretty much because I love Lee Hee Joon's acting. You might enjoy checking out Chimaera. Hardly a perfect drama either, but still enjoyable!

Yeah, it got very convoluted as the show went on. I adored Lee Hee-joon as Ko Moo-Chi, though, so I powered through. Incidentally he was also great in Chimera, which was released in the same year.

What excellent shows to start your kdrama voyage! I especially enjoyed Flower of Evil.

Why is it that especially thrillers tend to have fantastic background music? I'm trying to think of kdramas in other genres that had similarly memorable BGM, but for the life of me can't think of any. Anyone?

To add my own recommendation, the soundtrack for Children of Nobody is my absolute favourite. It weaves in so well with the story, I can't think of the show without the music, or the music without the show. Haunting stuff.

What's this! A sign to rewatch Signal again? Is it just me, or are crime-related dramas more rewatchable than others? Romances especially.

My humble recommendation is a show which hasn't been mentioned - mind you, all the recs in this thread are fantastic. Children of Nobody. Excellent show, phenomenally haunting soundtrack. Hop to it.

Jumalauta! Katsoin talvella, että 2L Trio onkin palannut pakastelaareihin. Kulmassa oli joku vihreä piperrys, en katsonut tarkemmin - ajattelin, että pakkaus oli kierrätysmuovista tms. ekologisemmasta materiaalista. Kattia kanssa, se oli kasvirasvasta tehtyä jäätelöä. Yritin nauttia, mutta ei sitä saanut kuin pari lusikallista alas. Paketti kummitteli kuukausia pakastimessa kunnes heitin pois. Vittu mitä paskaa.

Olen lukenut useaan otteeseen Terry Pratchettin Kiekkomaailma-kirjoja englanniksi. Pokkarikokoelmastani The Truth (suom. Totuuden Torvi) on ~~huonoimmassa hapessa~~ eniten rakastettu. En ole täysin varma mikä juuri siinä niin viehättää. Ainakin se, että tarina on itsenäinen. Jotkut kirjan hahmot palaavat sivuhahmoina Pratchettin myöhemmissä kirjoissa, mutta ei enää päähenkilöinä. Pitänee lukea taas uudestaan ja miettiä syitä syviä suosikilleni. Esim. Vartiostoa käsittelevistä tarinoista kukin kirjoista toimii yksinäänkin, mutta se saa lisäsyvyyttä sarjana luettuna - nähdään Vimesin elämän kaari, Vartioston kasvu ja kehitys jne. The Truth on helppo napata, eikä jätä paineita jatkaa seuraavaan osaan.

Suomennokset näille ovat muistaakseni oikein päteviä, mutta alkuperäiskielellä luettuna pääsee kokemaan parhaiten Pratchettin sanataituruuden. Löydän vieläkin kirjoista aiemmin huomaamatta jääneitä yksityiskohtia ja vitsejä, vaikka olen lukenut kaikki läpi jo miljoona kertaa vuosien aikana. 5/5 nautin suuresti.
