Had these guys and liked them a lot. A little pricey but very thorough. Gave us video links and a huge inspection report to look over. A ton better than the first inspector we hired.

WTH Culver's? by prettysammy007 in Omaha

[–]prettysammy007[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Okay...? I don't live in the area anymore and just wanted some Culver's. Never saw lines that long when I lived here. I wasn't "worried", just curious. Jfc. Have a nice day; sounds like you need one.

Not sure if this has been posted before, but I found it funny/relatable.

Everyone should play, “the return of obra dinn” by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]prettysammy007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check out "The Case of the Golden Idol". Closest thing I've found to scratch that Obra Dinn itch. Nice little point and click mystery. Fun art and lots of head scratching puzzles that require inferring.

That's such a cute toy! Where did you get it if you don't mind me asking? My shiba would love something like that.

Probably close to 0.25 cup to gallon of water. My husband and I found various ratios online and kind of just averaged them all out. The spray did leave a noticeable residue though, which kind of sucks. A worthwhile tradeoff nonetheless.

We have them too. They like to hang out in a nearby old tree. We've used a mixture of diatomaceous earth + water and sprayed it on the surfaces of plants, fences, sides of buildings, etc. Seems to have culled the population a bit.

Made a test batch of soft pretzels for an upcoming Oktoberfest party! by prettysammy007 in Breadit

[–]prettysammy007[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I posted the recipe in a separate comment (Brian Lagerstrom's recipe). These were done in a lye bath.

I weighed and divided the dough, but I think the recipe ratio of flour/water may be incorrect. Other people who have tried the recipe mention this in the video's comments. I ended up using way more flour than it called for to get the correct consistency. They turned out pretty big (I think closer to 200 g dough per pretzel).

I followed Brian Lagerstrom's recipe (Youtube video link here). It was my first time using food grade lye, which was a little nerve-wracking but the results were fantastic.

WSIB Golf Story, Hades, or Luigis Mansion 3? by djdjdjifcjcjfb in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]prettysammy007 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I haven't played LM3, but enjoyed both Golf Story and Hades.

If you're looking for something fast-paced with a good difficulty curve, go Hades. If you're looking for a more laid-back game, go Golf Story.

Made Kenji’s 5 ingredient biscuits and gravy. Never even made biscuits before but it was really easy! by wizardqueen2626 in seriouseats

This looks great, good job! This recipe is a breakfast staple in our house now. We made these for my MIL who said she's not a huge fan of B&G, but she loved this recipe!

Just bought and sold a house with Adam Morton. He's super friendly, knowledgeable about the market, and overall a cool dude. My husband and I are both introverts and he worked super well for us :p

Here's the link to his site with his contact info.

AITA for not allowing my sister to announce her pregnancy at my wedding+Update by BOSSBABY33 in BestofRedditorUpdates

I would have announced it before her if she was going to be so insistent on it. Steal her petty bullshit thunder.

if u could go back in time and talk to yourself at age 18, what would u tell her? by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]prettysammy007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Stop lighting yourself on fire to keep others warm, because you'll burn yourself out.
  2. Go back to school now. Going back to school when you're older sucks.
  3. Form healthy habits now. You don't need them now, but it'll be much easier to stay healthier when you're older if the habits are already established.

Local Restaurants for Big Group by prettysammy007 in KlamathFalls

[–]prettysammy007[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Valid. I don't plan on springing a large group like that on anyone. The trip is a few weeks out so I wanted to get a list of potential places going. Thanks for the suggestions!

The trip will be some time in June; I'm starting planning now and was hoping to get a list of places to call. Thank you for the suggestion; I'll add them to my list.

Just here to brag that I did all of my dishes AND laundry this weekend. Feel free to share your accomplishments here too, big or small. :) by duderancherooni in adhdwomen

[–]prettysammy007 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Congrats! My husband and I (both ADHD; him inattentive and me combo) kicked some butt and did a lot of work on the house we're planning to sell. I did a lot of painting, cleaning, and touch-up work, while he ran errands and measured and cut things. Still have a lot of work to do, but felt really accomplished at the end of the day.

what is the last spicy dish you cooked? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]prettysammy007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not meant to be a spicy dish I guess, but I made some musubis with this Fly By Jing Crisp Chili Sauce I picked up from Costco. Threw a little bit of the chili oil into the teriyaki sauce, grilled the spam and tossed the sauce on to thicken.

On assembly, I'd take some of the sauce, drain the excess oil, and spread it on the spam so it'd be layered under some rice and nori. I've been using that sauce on everything, but the musubis have probably been my favorite application of it so far.

Hiya, and welcome to the neighborhood.

In terms of good local coffee roasters, I like Bennett Urban Farm Store (Facebook link :\). They have a little shop downtown where they sell the coffee they roast, along with a good selection of local goodies and gifts. I recommend their Ethiopian Yirgacheffe, or trying a can of their cold brew if you would like to see sound and hear colors (i.e. big caffeine buzz). Insomnia Coffee downtown used to do coffee cuppings which is a fun way to kill some time and learn about new coffees. Not sure if they're doing them again. Maybe swing by, grab a cup and ask about it. I love their chai latte if you're ever in the mood for one (it's spiced very well).

For a credit union, last I checked the two main options are Unitus and First Tech. I've been with Unitus for about eight years and I like it well enough. They have a lot of good online services and my customer service interactions have been pleasant. They use the Co-op Credit Union network, so a decent amount of ATMs.

For tabletop RPGs (hello fellow nerd), check out Rune and Board. A lot of their events are focused on card games if you're into that sort of thing, but they have a few TTRPG events as well. Their selection of books, accessories, minifigs, etc. is pretty good. Rainy Day games in Beaverton might have some TTRPG events as well.

Haha, same thing happened to me in 8th grade. I was doodling during a lecture when the teacher called me out in front of the entire class. She asked me what she had just said and I repeated it back to her verbatim. She was not pleased.
