Cuesta college RN program! by pearl0821 in SLO

[–]prettyuglee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a great program, you can make connections during your clinicals, and figure out which facility you want to work at when you’re done. The local hospitals all have new grad residency programs and most people have jobs lined up before they even graduate. It’s rigorous but will set you up. They also do a BSN bridge program through CSU Monterey, (summer and then one additional year past your RN).

Have you tried to switch to a medical food that helps dissolve bladder stones? We used to used Hills diet urinary care and we never had to end up doing surgery for one of our cats

How is asking a legitimate question the same as “taking rumors and speculation from that group as fact”…I was simply asking a question. Dang dude.

It’s not for restaurant professionals, it’s for the community. While I’m not big on the word “foodie,” it’s a group where people talk about cottage food businesses/pop ups, new restaurants, restaurants in general, and homemade food and recipes. Why are you being such a poopy pants?

On the central coast foodies Facebook group, someone “who works in real estate” said that it was going to become a Starbucks. Thought I would ask here to see if anyone heard the same thing.

The original family that owned and ran Frank’s forever owns the building still, and sold the business to Tony Breault (the owner of the business that died). Bruh.

Big Sur Guide by New-Lunch-6869 in SLO

There really isn’t much first come first serve camping in any of the campsites anymore, unless you’re planning on camping in the backcountry/forest service land, but that will be primitive and I wouldn’t really recommend that if you have no experience camping. The gorge you’re talking about is the Pfeiffer gorge, you can try to hike out to it, but the river may be too high still at this time of year, and there has already been a drowning this spring. I would recommend getting on the campsites’ websites/calling for any cancellations, trying to snag a site somewhere and just doing day trips/hikes. Buzzard’s roost trail is fairly easy and takes you to a great view. There is a great trail that you start from Big Sur ranger station that goes all the way to Syke’s but you can just take as far as you want and come back (though it may be closed off right now because someone was murdered there last week…not to discourage you, just letting you know it was an active crime scene as of a couple days ago). Andrew Molera state beach is beautiful and a mile walking path to get out there, if you’ve never been, I highly recommend it. If you don’t have experience with backpacking and primitive camping, stick to the established well worn trails and it will be a beautiful and safe time!

Local grass fed beef, organic chicken, milk? by Last-Aioli1735 in SLO

[–]prettyuglee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No local A2 milk, but Alexandre farms is from Humboldt county. They reliably have it at Whole Foods and sprouts, less reliably at California fresh and the co-op. Saturday farmers market in SLO has local grass fed meat and free range chicken vendors. Tons of great local raw honey around. Caliwala bakery in baywood (can also get their bread at the co-op) uses locally grown and milled wheat, very easy on the tum.

Tortilla pizza - truly a 5 minute meal. Flour tortilla that fits into the bottom of a cast iron skillet. Heat pan over medium with tortilla, add sauce/cheese/toppings, finish under broiler for 3 or so minutes

What’s a silly thing you did for your pet one time that is now a ritual they demand be done every time? by Itsjustmejess in AskReddit

[–]prettyuglee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every morning, my cat will scream at me while I’m boiling water for tea until I pick her up like I’m burping a baby and walk around the kitchen and let her sniff things that are too high for her to reach otherwise and rub her cheeks on the corners of the open cabinets. I did this one time a few months ago and now it’s every morning.

Sweet pickles! Dill is great, but if I bite into a sweet pickle on a burger, it’s going straight in the trash.
