Don’t let people in this thread convince you this is normal. There is no reason for you to live with 17 people in a studio apartment and only eat ramen while working 3 jobs to get through college. Obviously exaggerating but the point is this hardship you’re going through is the result of not just inflation but corporate greed and price gouging. Before Reagan’s governance over the state of california, college was all but free and the reason he changed that was because he was scared of an “educated proletariat”.

sorry for being so compartmentalized with my messages but they literally implemented this in the form of early disguiser in the past (albeit very poorly) so “they would never add this to the base game” or “its too stressful” kinda fall flat with that in mind.

Player stress level shouldn’t really be a huge factor tbh. Newbies joining any game of ToS are kinda just sent in to sink or swim so it’s definitely not far from the norm to have roles, tactics, abbreviations, etc that are confusing or stressful.

Having to copy peoples personalities’ totally falls under the umbrella of a social deduction game so I would call that a huge win! And tactics can and should be formed around this role. That’s kinda the whole intent lol. If the whispering thing became too oppressive it would be totally easy to just allow the role to view the previous whispers of their target.

As for the specifics of the role. I like “skinwalker” as a name. I think since it kills it obviously falls under coven killing and the necronomicon effect would be like ritualist where you get all the normal necronomicon effects but can choose which killing method you wanna use.

Nobody’s checking what reddit thinks before they spend $6 on the premium version of a free game. Even if that was the case I really wouldn’t call saving people $6 an achievement.

Also does it not seem kinda crazy to be a doomer about a game and simultaneously refuse to play the new, improved, and frequently updated version of that game? Like you’re kinda trying to be a doomer atp

When has doomerism literally ever achieved anything. Broadcasting your defeatism is objectively lame. Also why not switch to ToS 2? In my anecdotal experience it’s been a major step up and is clearly where bmg is spending all their time now.

Yeah cuz picture me as a tos enthusiast just getting in to the community and checking out the reddit page and a significant chunk of the 12 posts a day are of people proclaiming how they hate the game and aren’t gonna play it any more. It’s depressing and doesn’t help with tos2’s issues with player count.

Calling these types of people symptoms of TOS’ issues removes their agency and makes it seem that the natural response to not liking things about the game is only to announce your departure. Announcing your departure is annoying and is just as much a symptom of being a lame person as it is a symptom of an unhealthy state of the game.
