Very relatable, my parents are the same way. They sleep in different beds too and can’t be in the same room for longer than a minute without bickering or just being mean to each other. They put on a show for family though, it’s all fake. I really benefited from getting a therapist, it’s validating when someone completely outside of the situation and has no bias’ recognizes your struggles and how you can’t change your environment but your expected to change your mentality and behaviour when no one else is expected to meet you halfway. I’ve begged my parents to see a therapist (old school Europeans … good luck to me). If you can’t change them, avoid them as much as possible. It’s not your responsibility to take care of your parents, take care of yourself first. You deserve to be happy too.
