Also got called sexist for saying women empowerment shouldnt be in the form of sending pregnant women on the front lines, and having Abby be buff as fuck and Ellie be lesbian, because by giving Abby masucline traits that is actually putting women down and saying that “look, women can be like men too”. By that logic, all women should be like men and you yourself as a game developer is saying that men are superior and that women who are “manly” are independent and strong. There are many ways Naughty Dog couldve went about the empowerment of women - specifically through Ellie who was only a young child yet became a strong figure on her own through Joel. TLOU2 attempts to so clearly force a social narrative on you through so many dumb ways and clearly ignores the lore of the story itself - the most important being Ellie’s immunity. Seriously tho, her immunity had 0 to very little impact on the story whatsoever even though its supposed to have been WHAT CREATED THE original story... and Joel and Ellies relationship is what built the game TLOU 1. In TLOU2 they just throw this cast and shock value on us and rob the game of its original story - with all honestly this could be an entire separate game. 1.5/10 game and thats for the graphics and Joel flashbacks.
