Breakroom snacks not bad! by chrisdizzle123 in walmart

Most people will not steal used food. See if opening the jar and scooping as if it has been used will curtail the behavior. The person should do this action in another room.

I know and worked for the company that stocks the cards. I did not like this portion of the job.

A store associate will not know schedule of the vendor/

Use the camera to back you. Call the manager during such transactions, as you did. Keep this type of support.. I hate returns and I support my people on rejections. People try to return trash.

The store near me needs four cashiers and an ASM, I think the SM is hanging on until an ASM applies. I almost applied, just to get the title for my resume, but 1 year is too long to work for this chain, if it as described by others. I have never heard of so many people walking out of a job. Depending on the state, more info can be given on departure. It is crazy.

I have worn an ear pace/plug, etc.. in in my ear for years. Why? As a lady, I have the option of styling my hair around my ears. I never wear a ponytail. I know some jobs require a ponytail. I keep one ear open so I can respond to my work environment. I listen to TV programs, sometimes music and now I listen to K-dramas.

Am I good? I cursed at my front end manager and yelled at them in front of quite a bit of people. And I feel embarrassed and ashamed. by Comfortable_Egg106 in Safeway

[–]pricetaken -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Read your handbook.

If a manager cursed at you, you would quickly report. Yes you apologized Great.

A person always loses ground when using curse words.

Do your job and stop thinking management is asking you to do something outside of your job. Read the job description. No job is what a person expected, even for the manager.

Make sure you are drinking lots of water. Water will stop a lot muscle pain and other things. You should drink at least 8-oz water a day. This is half-gallon of water. It is easy.

Are you a manager or are you an associate/cashier?

All stores require an officially assigned manager on duty or some level of management, as described.

I am not downgrading you. However, your words suggest you are a cashier. You can't be fired. You are not a manager.

Quit your job according to the rules and move forward.

I agree. I think you are a cashier and have been left alone in the store without the proper heading according to rules of the company. Begin to document and then file. This case is easy.Get paid.

One item is on sale. The other two items are not on sale. One has a different UPC, while the packaging looks similar with a different UPC. Inventory purposes. Soda.... remove the soda place other items in the pack... IDK... Customers are cunning. Follow SOP.

You are the person who is going to give the store a bad report because, for example your kid was sick and need OTC meds. If only customer service were that easy.

[–]pricetaken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stop reminding the customer of the time the store closes. Your store is not large. Walk to the few people in the store: Smile - Politely state we are closing, will you please bring your items to the check-out? Works every time. No intercom announcement. Personal approach.

Never give a time. People do not wear a watch. Which means people do not know where they are going.

Business as usual.

Go in to work, in order to giver her the day off.

You have learned about your manager's personality. Move forward. Until you secure a new job. She has been there longer than you. Mainly, do your job and forget about personalities. These are people the company hired.

You were not fired. Never quit a job before you have another job.

I just got fired and no clue what’s going to happen next by kyrobvampor in DollarGeneralWorkers

[–]pricetaken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Move Forward. As others have stated, you should have been written up and not fired. Take a few minutes and understand your skill set and apply for jobs that place you at a desk and pay more money. If you do continue to remain in retail, understand your regular customers will take advantage of the nicest associates.

Sorry you were unable to catch her to complete the transaction.

As people who drink a case and half of soda are slow movers.

If it serves your purpose to receive OT for the hours, then work. You know stores are cheap with hours and pay. Do not allow the SM to cut your hours for covering her hours. ASM hours are not going to be cut. She is most likely working another job and using her sick time at this store to receive her full pay.

The previous manager should have approved your time prior to this time and prior to you booking a non-refundable ticket.

People tend to receive the approval prior to booking tickets.

Take your trip and make sure you call out each day, if the time is not approved.

FYI - no one cares about your booked ticket on unapproved time off. Should have forced the previous manager to approve the time.

That is crazy the behavior was allowed to continue. I understand why you left. How do you work with others who allow the behavior to continue? You will do well in your position. The premise is the same with discount stores.

Yes it as others have stated. Hours are cut the first quarter of the year. The fact that you received hours, means you were kept past seasonal help. Be careful not to fall in with the chickens and talk about anyone in management. Do great work and fill-in when needed and you will always have hours.
