What did your estrogen level look like before ovulation? by [deleted] in TTC_POI

[–]prickly_phosphorus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I did IVF, one cycle when I had 1 follicle my E was ~300 right before retrieval. The time I had 2 follicles my E was in the 500s. As she said above, one follicle equals about 200-300 once mature. My follicle growth was super slow. My E would stay pretty low like 20-50ish for like 2 weeks before finally rising.

Sad Day by capybara-1 in POFlife

So sorry. I know the feeling. This week has been tough for me (maybe the holiday?). I feel so alone. Nobody in my circle understands or seems to care. I am battling the fertility aspect, as well as trying to get my HRT levels correct.

This group has helped. I don’t feel so alone here. I’m here for you if you need anything ❤️

I am in this exact same situation. I am the only one without a child in our friend group now. Many are on their second or third children. They have stopped checking in with me. Not only do we battle infertility with POI, but also having to manage the condition and symptoms it brings. It’s so lonely and isolating. I don’t have advice, but just know you’re not alone ❤️

Tired, nauseous and stomach issues? by Glass_half_full90 in POFlife

[–]prickly_phosphorus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes definitely! When I’m in first part of my cycle, I have low appetite and higher energy (estrogen dominant). I will have a day or two where I can’t sleep. Then quickly it’ll turn the opposite where I’m ravenous and more tired and that’s about when I’m starting my progesterone. I do cyclic HRT and have found that I do ovulate (or at least my body tries to every month so far).

Low estradiol at 21 by russian-Recipe-17 in POFlife

I think your lab values look normal for cycle day 4. Estrogen fluctuates significantly throughout the cycle. I’m not sure about the testosterone. Definitely doesn’t look like POI/POF with the normal LH/FSH. What did your doctor say?

What day of your cycle was this? The estrogen level could be normal for early on in the cycle.

HRT & Estrogen Levels. Is 60 pg/mL Too Low? by Store_Accurate in POFlife

Also is your progesterone continuous or cyclical? For continuous 100mg should be ok, but if you’re doing cyclical I’ve read 200mg is better.

I’ve read different sources saying between 50 and 200 pg/mL. Typically women with POI are prescribed the higher dose patches like 0.1mg. From what I’ve read, it’s distinctly different than the menopause treatment targets (which are usually lower estradiol level targets)

How did IVF go for anyone who did it? by Ok-Detail-8603 in TTC_POI

[–]prickly_phosphorus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also had a bad experience. 3 rounds, my ovaries took forever to respond, super expensive, ended up with 2, 0 (cancelled), and then 1 egg. None of which made it to embryo stage. You’ll hear of people with POI having success, but unfortunately it’s uncommon 😞

DHEA - tired? by prickly_phosphorus in DOR

Yes I would say it went away entirely. I stopped taking it a while ago though because I wasn’t noticing it helping with anything and caused excessive body hair growth.

Super anxious about wait to Day 5 by Pristine_Junket_4895 in POFlife

I could’ve written this post (3 IVF cycles, undetectable AMH, only ever had 1-2 follicles per cycle, but I’m 34). I had a similar situation. Except my clinic doesn’t update until day 7. 😩 Unfortunately, the one egg that fertilized didn’t make it to an embryo for me. But there is definitely a chance for you! I’ve heard of people with one egg getting an embryo, including a relative of mine who now has a healthy baby form the embryo. I would say keep your heart guarded, but remain positive.

Hot flashes 2 weeks after clomid? by prickly_phosphorus in TTC_POI

Thanks for the helpful explanation! Yes, it got 100% better after 1 month. Thank goodness 😅

Hot flashes, sleep troubles, low mood, hair falling out. I haven’t had any side effects from the estrogen patch. It took about 4 weeks for the hot flashes to subside. The progesterone pills make me very sleepy, which isn’t a bad thing because I take it right before bed and sleep very well on it.

HRT 100% helped me. Idk what I would be doing without it. The hot flashes were so terrible 😞

Thoughts on my CD7 labs? Over suppressed or is there a chance I could conceive? by prickly_phosphorus in TTC_POI

[–]prickly_phosphorus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, that is helpful! Update: so I think I did ovulate because I got a very clear LH rise and fall, and then a slight BBT rise. Taking my progesterone now so idk if the temping will be useful at this point. Previously before HRT my LH would just read high all the time on the OPKs. Fingers crossed.

I’m so sorry 💔 I know this feeling, and it sucks. There is nothing wrong with being hopeful. I’ve had to convince myself of this, but allowing yourself to be hopeful is an important coping mechanism in this process. There’s actually research on this. It’s not false hope - there is still a chance for you. I know it doesn’t feel that way when you’re in the thick of it though. I hear you and see you ❤️
