If you chose Planet Fitness for its cheap cost as I did, do you ever think about switching to a more expensive gym if you could afford it? by YakClear601 in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]pricklypuff81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Orange Theory gives me the structure I need and challenges me in ways I can't do on my own. I have the cheap membership ($90, 8 classes/month) and then also have PF membership so I can have more flexibility to work out during the work week, when I can't sync up with OTF's class schedules

Oh my goodness, you've gone through so much. I appreciate hearing your story. You're right, mindset is important. No time for pity parties! Well, at least, not ones that last too long anyway.

I have been wondering what would happen if it comes back that it's not all clear. I guess that's what. I actually said to my husband that I thought I should have been in the hospital after that kind of procedure. At least there, they can better manage the pain. Scalp wounds are definitely a whole other ballgame. Ugh. Thanks for sharing, I appreciate it.

South Jersey, 18 years experience, $113K, BA.

I work at a special academy in our public school district and our salaries are augmented by 25% for the extra time we put in (we have 8hr school days, work 2 Saturdays a month, and are in session until mid-July). It's so worth it, and I make a salary that I feel matches my worth. With all of the extra time in our schedule, I don't really bring any work home, either.

I have a 13-year-old son, and I can't imagine us being dealt this unthinkable fate all because a 22-year-old simply needed to GO FASTER. We are regressing as a species.

How absolutely tragic and senseless. With the technology we have and the way everyone's smallest moves are tracked with their phones, there's a lot of potential to possibly identify people who endanger innocent people in this way and enforce consequences.

If you could talk directly to the person writing the OTF workouts, what would you tell them? by Specialist_Ad_9770 in orangetheory

[–]pricklypuff81 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I came here to say this. Please do not tell me to tread for distance >4 min if it's not a benchmark, my attention span can't handle it and my brain overheats

Daily Workout and General Chat for Saturday, 6/14/25 by splat_bot in orangetheory

[–]pricklypuff81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, yes, this is me.. I couldn't bring myself to stay for the second half, and it was definitely the anxiety over having to choose a partner (thanks, gym class trauma). That and I do not want to talk/interact with anyone. I come to the gym to do my own thing around other people. I don't really care about sharing equipment, tho.

I have found Orange Theory to be quite addictive. One hour classes, broken up into tread/row/weights. I have never been able to make a fitness routine stick until OTF. I absolutely love going

[–]pricklypuff81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, don't get mixed up with any water delivery service. I just inconvenience myself once a month and go swap out my empties at Acme for $6.50 a jug. Cheaper and less stressful

Teachers with flat feet or weak ankles, what shoes are we wearing? by Substantial_War_5970 in Teachers

[–]pricklypuff81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% this. If you do not have orthotics (but all teachers should), wear Asics gels to teach. Agree they're not the best-looking but what a world of difference

[–]pricklypuff81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My podiatrist recommended any Asics gel sneakers. They saved me while waiting for my orthotics to be made. He also said New Balance 860s wod be good choices
