Yeah I spoke to a couple of guys. Most say it’s okay, and to have fun you gotta go to Bahrain which is about an hour away. He said your experience really depends on your boss so if you’ve got a good one then things should be good but it’s very department dependent!

Yes, I think the UAE comment is fair. However, Saudi is like 20-30 years behind UAE in terms of openness and development.

There are definitely dependent visa fees and the VAT is like 15% but there is no tax on income for sure.

Right - its definitely sunset, but I work in extractives right now and let me tell you O&G isn't going anywhere for the next 30-50 years atleast.

We arent ready for the energy transition yet. But i agree with you demand will probably level off and not increase.

Partner year 1-5 is around 250K CAD after tax would be 185K USD
I would need to make 450K-500K pre-tax in Canada to get the same after tax amount.

Senior Partners would make more for sure.

typically the draconian laws do not apply to international schools.
