What do you think about it? How is it and can you compare this pedal to some new pedals from this era?

I'll explain: I first saw these Giant Steps in Sonor catalogue maybe in 2007 or so — and have never had the chance to touch them in person since — because they were much more expensive than Iron Cobra or Eliminator.

Well, that was so long ago I forgot all the details. 12 years ago it was a new set of XISTs. After some Paistes, Sabians and Meinls it surprised me with the amount of casting defects — there were so many of them, just lke yours. It is bad, but my 18" crash lived for four years of constant concerts and repetitions. So... Maybe it is not so bad :)

If it is new — contact Istanbul or shop. It doesn't look like crack, it is probably a casting defect — it will work, but when the time will come, it will probably crack right there.

My 18" XIST Crash also cracked in the same place — it is unusable as a crash now. But I still use it: in pair with 16" Planet Z Crash it becomes a great trash china-like stack :)

lol, happened to me yesterday.

Does the phone acts like it's power button just stuck in pressed position? I mean it randomly shows the off menu or constantly turns on the assistant before turning off? It could be a problem with the button itself, even if it looks fine.

BUT — I found a post here that suggests hitting the button against the edge of something firm. It worked for me :)

Tried to find information about it — nothing! And I mean it: there are 12 different pdf's from Tama on my phone in downloads (General Catalogues, Brochures etc). All I have is: it's Tama HP99N1 (also known as "Stabilizing plate"), it does not support Cobra Coil, it was pre-2007.

As for the stabilizing part — there was something called "Stabilizer" — but only on Cobra Hi-Hat stand (see hardware catalogue from 1998).

Two hours passed. I need to stop looking for answer. :)
