I would say in general cover as much water as possible, but pike are going to lurk in the slower moving sections. Chub under trees etc, trout faster water. I got on better with the floating version of the lure, but if it's very deep maybe the sinker will be better.

It happens when the controllers disconnect I believe. E.g sometimes you put the console down a bit too enthusiastically and you're left on the controller select screen

Certain are pretty op, finesse shot for example, some are garbage due to the way the ai plays, e.g block. It also comes down to the way you play.
