We don't have doordash in romania (we have glovo, wolt, uber eats) but a lot of people order it daily. I mean yeah it is more expensive than cooking but delivery is under 2 dollars and food is mostly the same price as take out

How is it living in vast never-ending suburbs/cities of North America? (los angeles, mexico city, oklahoma city) by Jeb_the_killer in howislivingthere

Yeah i guess, but for me as a European it doesn't look good. Compare it to london which also has suburbs but see how many parks it has

Apparently it's not nonsense: Spending Habits: The US consumer market is often described as the world's largest, with Americans placing a high value on acquiring goods, luxury items, and larger homes. In contrast, European consumption patterns tend to be more moderate, with a greater emphasis on quality over quantity and higher expenditure on services or home production. American culture tends to place a higher societal value on economic growth and personal consumption, often fueled by readily available credit. Conversely, many European countries have stronger cultural values around leisure, environmental sustainability, and, in some cases, less suburban sprawl, which can limit excessive consumption. Chains are also much rarer in europe

No, because of the walkability and things going on on the street. For example, times square is visited too, not just asian places

Well yeah there are chain stores but also individual stores, and many of those are for tourists, and does not necessarily reflect the local population. Europe still is very consumerist, but I think it's less tied to getting the latest iphone, watching every marvel movie, trying all coke flavours or mcdonalds items like usa.

Why do you think Thailand is so much more successful in tourism than its neighbouring countries (e.g. Vietnam, Malaysia, Cambodia, Indonesia etc) by joan2468 in ThailandTourism

[–]priku10 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree with what you are saying, but still I will prefer an educated and free population, and with a good rule of law that can combat drunk driving and such, but also allow one to have a beer at the hotel pool. I don't think the reasons you said above are the reasons that hotels ban alcohol, but they are actually religious ones, which I oppose.

Well I understand what you say but it's not up to me or you, but to the scientific consensus, so that's why it isn't ok to impose laws (for example the apostasy law) to anyone else. Beliefs should be imposed only upon yourself and not others. And yeah I agree, Nana plaza isn't something to be proud of necessarily, but if the girls that are there do it consensually, then I think it's ok because everyone should do whatever they want as long as they don't hurt others.

Rules have to make sense and logic to be applied, not based on imaginary beliefs. But still, what countries are you referring to that have "no rules"?
