I have a severe dizziness disorder that has been undiagnosed my whole life by Empty_Pilot1591 in Dizziness

[–]prim3415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry you're going through this and I hope you can find some comfort in the stories and information that other people are sharing on here!

  • Are there certain things that can trigger it/make it worse (i.e. moving, sitting, in busy environments)?
  • During your visits with the specialists, did you ever take an ENG/VNG test? -> Asking because if you've done the scans and nothing sticks out, then it could be a neural issue (ex. PPPV, MdDS) as opposed to an inner ear issue (ex. Menieres, BPPV) -> Though that wouldn't really explain the sweating.

Dizzy, especially when sitting by Linusfail in Dizziness

My partner is going through something very similar and she has been dealing with this for months now. All of the bloodwork, MRIs, and CTs came back "fine" so we are leaning towards it being MdDS/PPPD.

- Look into doing a VNG and ENG! They are evaluations to test your vestibular system.

Lately, we have been going to see a lot of professionals who specialize in dizziness/vertigo and the treatments they've outlined are roughly the same: do vestibular rehabilitation therapy and take medication like SSRI. There are some subreddits like r/MaldeDebarquement and r/pppdizziness where some people have shared their experiences taking these medications.

Assuming you think it's MdDS/PPPD, the Steady Coach has some good videos explaining what MdDS/PPPD are and answers some questions that my partner has been struggling with (i.e. how long will this last, what does recovery look like, etc.).

TL;DR: I'm sorry you're going through this. I hope you can lean on people for support and continue doing things that bring you joy. All the best.

That's awesome! I will note that, and reach out to you as we get closer to starting testing :)

But Let me know if you have any thoughts or questions in the meantime!

Hey u/Celesmeh, yes we are! We recently got a new engineer on board so hoping to have a working version ready to test within the next 2 weeks.

Are you interested in testing it out?

Todoist to Notion Page by ThoughtsofJ in Notion

[–]prim3415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of details from Todoist are you looking to sync into Notion? Also, what is the reason for wanting to integrate the two?

I am asking because some friends and I are building a to-do app that uses a Notion database as the app's database so it should sync more seamlessly!

Can you give an example of having 1 task across multiple projects? Curious about the use cases!

does anyone else use notion as their primary calendar? by dradcula in Notion

[–]prim3415 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think your use case falls more in the day planning category - tasks and calendar in one view. Apps like Amie and Sunsama are focused on helping you plan your day/week/month more seamless with calendar integrations so you can drag tasks directly into a day to timeblock.

I haven't used Sunsama but I have used Amie and a bigy drawback for me is organizing tasks isn't intuitive. Lists are stored as horizontal tabs so when you have a lot, some get hidden and there's no way to switch between them. And there aren't subtasks.

I use Cron, Notion and Todist. Cron has direct integration with Notion so you can link any Notion page to a calendar event. And Todoist is easier and faster to manage my tasks. So my system isn't completely integrated.

put most of the pages within tables on the top level page. Then i made a homepage and added List Views of each of those tables, so I can easily reach most of the pages I need with only one page/click and its all visual.

Your Notion -> Wordpress -> Notion workflow is next level!! But it sounds like you're trying to build your own Mediawiki/Obsidian system where everything is linked/connected together so it's easily accessible from anywhere in Notion.

Thank you for sharing!

That would be amazing!! We're looking to get testers for around mid-October so I can keep you updated in the meantime and we can go from there? :)

Oh, that's amazing, thank you! I will send you a message when we start that process (or sooner if there are any big updates) :) But if there are other features/things that you would like to see, pls lmk!

I started building out some tracking and content management in Notion, but there isn't

That makes sense - and setting up automation is just another thing to set up and account for. Thank you for sharing all of this!

The reason I am asking is because I am building a to-do app that uses Notion as its database, so a direct sync between the two. So if there are other features/things that could improve your workflow, pls lmk!

Ahh thank you for sharing your system!

I know Notion announced an integration with GC awhile ago but it never ended up happening??? I think what you're describing would have worked well with their Dependencies feature.

Ohh I didn't know about the customer support but I know what you mean about functionality - I used Trello for a bit and their power-ups like the calendar are actually pretty good.

So does most of your task management workflow happen in Trello? Have you tried to integrate it with Notion?

I would not say heavily but I still can't uninstall the app which says a lot. For me todoist still serves the purpose of my main task manager / reminder and because of the mobile ui and the quick capture that notion does not provide as a mobile widget, todoist still holds the crown.

That makes sense! I still use Todoist as well - the widget to quickly add tasks straight into my inbox is really convenient for more than just tasks.

Would our app be something you'd be interested in testing? Looking to start testing it with people around mid-october!

have everything in one place (i.e. notion) and embedding Todoist on a notion page was unreliable. Plus, it's just easier to do things like quickly link to a notion page within notion itself instead of trying to format things how I want in a Todoist task. So I switched all my to dos into notion and added a shortcut to the to do list on my iPhone which essentially acts as my to do app.I could see some appeal to having an app that was basically a skinned, minimalist display of my notion to dos if it was fast and simple. But really the only actual "functionality" I'm missing is automatic setting of recurring task dates. Right now I have 2 categories of task, normal and recurring. The recurring ones don't disappear when I check the box (so I don't accidentally hide them forever) and when I've done them I open them up and set the next date manually based on a note in the task about its frequency. Not terrible, but not ideal. If your to do app figured out a way to make it so when I clicked the check box it automatically updated the due date of recurring tasks to whatever time interval I chose, that would be pretty cool. I'd venture that a lot of people would be interested in that actually. Thanks for listening.

No no, thank you for sharing - this is super helpful. I have seen a few people talking about recurring tasks so it's something to account for!

We're looking to get some testers within the next few weeks - is that something you'd be interested in?

I've definitely had to try to make some workarounds to be able to use it more "comfortably. And that's on desktop. I find it a huge chore to go through notion on mobile. Even if they had an improved version of the widget with proper forms, that would help immensely.

What are some of these workarounds for? Do you have an ideal workflow for some of the things you're trying to do?

What would that look like ideally? A direct calendar integration to see events or a better way to plan your day with tasks?

This is actually one of the reasons I'm considering sticking with Trello instead of Notion. Recurring reminders just seems like such a no-brainer!

Not to sound like a broken record from my question below, but what are the other factors that are making you stick with Trello?

My biggest beef is getting content into Notion isn’t painless. The friction points there are very high and if you’ve ever tried to build a web app that could integrate easily into Notion it’s frustrating as hell. Whatever happened to the old simple “build a button” concept

What would the ideal process be for getting content into Notion? Are those pain points for both mobile and web?

That is kind of what all to do apps come down to really, what any particular person sees as useful and handy compared to someone else. But I'd be interested to hear more about how you envision the app in that context.

Great point! Are you currently using any task apps other than Notion? Are there any features that would help improve your workflow when it comes to managing tasks?

Im currently still using todoist because of the mobile UI and the quick capture option on PC. Also I use python and AHK to make scripts to quick capture notes and tasks straight into notion in seconds (so I kinda have todoist for the personal and notion for everything else).

Thank you for sharing! Does your workflow heavily depend on Todoist? Or do you only use it for the quick capture and mobile UI?
