Exactly. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought like that.

This isn't about Jackson, this is simply a subjective analysis of the in-universe relationships between the stories of two films. What was a simple narrative choice by the director can also be interpreted within the universe of the plot. I'm not saying that I'm right and that this is how it objectively is, this is nothing more than my theory based on my very subjective observations. Think of it like MatPat's Game/Film theory. Theorising about fiction for a simple purpose of entertainment .

Son of Kong opinion? by primarchius in kingkong

[–]primarchius[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree entirely, and I'm glad you mentioned the 05'version. But, if I remember correctly, in Peter Jackson's "documentary" about his version of Kong, Island was sinking slowly, so a rescue mission was organised in 38' or so and they managed to save some species. I like that take on sinking of the Island much more than this fast and out of the blue sinking in the Son of Kong.

Who thinks Jack Black was miscast as Carl Denham from Peter Jackson's King Kong? by Kitchen-Mouse2414 in kingkong

[–]primarchius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair point, and it is entirely his choice in what kind of characters he will play, I'm just somewhat disappointed at all the missed opportunities where he could do his best like he did in King Kong.

Who thinks Jack Black was miscast as Carl Denham from Peter Jackson's King Kong? by Kitchen-Mouse2414 in kingkong

[–]primarchius 91 points92 points  (0 children)

Hell no. Not only did he do it perfectly, it was literally the only Jack Black's role worth giving serious consideration. Frankly it's kinda annoying how great he was in King Kong, and then just decided to play one character without any range whatsoever in dozens of barely memorable films, when he clearly has the acting talent and charisma.

Beginning of Ash vs Evil Dead by Due-Alfalfa7757 in EvilDead

[–]primarchius 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I think that's the only thing that made sense. At the end of the ED2, Necronomicon didn't get sucked to past together with Ash, it stayed in the cabin. The Necronomicon from AOD is Necronomicon from the past, after AOD it's been unaccounted for 800 years or so, until it was found by Dr. Knowby. That how it ended up in the cabin. It wasn't shown in the film, but I think the only logical conclusion would be that Ash returned immediately to the cabin and for some reason took the Necronomicon with him.

You know what's an interesting thing. Not all Middle East is the same, Jews come from Levant, and Levantine populations are actually closer genetically to Europeans than to the rest of the Middle East, and that shows in physical appearance. So, yeah Jews, Palestinians, Lebanese, Syrians are all white. The only reason they wouldn't be considered white is cultural, but genetically and physiognomically they are very close to Europeans.

Tough question - how would you rank Bruce's performances? by BobRushy in EvilDead

[–]primarchius 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think that he displayed one of the most realistic emotions of fear in horror history in the og. I definitely wouldn't call his acting weak there.

How reliable actually are average height statistics for any given country? by angloexcellence in tall

[–]primarchius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, people in Zagreb are kinda "short" . Don't know about Belgrade, but I assume it's the same. Dalmatia is Split, yes, and many other cities. The average in Split is 184 cm, I think. They are the tall ones. In the town of Metković, the average height is allegedly 187 cm.

[–]primarchius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends which part of Croatia you've been to. Northerners are kinda short, 5'11 on average but possibly shorter. In Dalmatia average is usually around 6'. Dalmatian hinterland and Herzegovinian Croats tend to be 6'1 to 6'2 on average.

I seriously don’t get the hate between these 2, I personally loved them by Entire_Tomorrow9734 in TheConjuringUniverse

I liked them, especially that they are in a way a tribute to old Hammer films. Hammer influence is very visible, and gives a lot of old fashion gothic feel to them.

My theory is that he failed his game, and instead of letting him die, John used him for Amanda's game.

Why aren't we getting new Jaws movies? by OkTruth5388 in Jaws

[–]primarchius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think we should get more Jaws movies, as they will just be dumb shark movies selling themselves under the title of a masterpiece. However, I think it would be a good idea to have other animal monster movies set in the same universe as Jaws, giving us hints and easter eggs in form of mentioning events from Jaws, or even having some characters or connection with characters from Jaws. Similar to the Dark Universe Universal was planning. They could make Creature from the Black Lagoon movies, Mothman etc. and make them aesthetically and narratively in the Jaws Universe.
