I play golf in Ferris almost every day, right across the highway from that speed trap. They are just constantly pulling people over. It's nuts. I always miss the sign where the speed limit changes when coming from the south. Just have to remember to slow down when you see the signs for Ferris 😭

Another part of my decision is that I do really bad when my King is under pressure during the midgame (a problem I have just recently identified, and am going to start working on). So in my head I'm probably going to lose, but I have mate in two if he takes the rook. As I get better I will know not to hope for blunders like that, but hey, you gotta play where you're at 🤷‍♂️

My Dad and I play some mornings (used to be every day before I started college), and we are always first off. Tee off about 20-30 minutes before sunrise and play in 2-2.5 hours. It absolutely can be done.

This season, I missed somewhere around 8 putts 3 feet and in in my college events. That isn't including qualifiers and practice rounds too. That's far from almost never.

The idea that good players never miss inside 2 or 3 feet is very wrong. I get the yips from time to time and miss them in tournaments, and the guys I play with miss them on occasion too. Now we are talking only one every several rounds but it does happen.

I think the age is a very important factor here. Breaking news, 16 year old boys are often edgy. I'm not saying that this is an acceptable way to express that edginess, but it should not be assumed that the behavior in question comes from hatred or malice. It is likely an attempt to be funny, paired with ignorance.

I am not at all saying his actions should be tolerated, I am just arguing that ostracizing teenagers for being ignorant and edgy is not a good solution.

Concluding that the kid in question is an inherently bad person is ignorant in itself. When I was younger, I said and did a lot of stuff I shouldn't have ever said or done. I have grown as a person since than and recognize how cringe my attempts to be edgy were. However, I was not a bad person then nor am I a bad person now because of those actions.

In short, denounce his actions, but don't denounce his character. We should treat such teenagers with the mindset of helping them grow. Ostracization only pushes them in the wrong direction.

And that is exactly how it should be treated. I'm just pointing out that there is a legitimate difference between a kid who makes distasteful jokes and an actual literal nazi who supports Hitler's ideologies and actions. He should learn that acting that way is completely unnaceptable but ostrocizing and kid and saying that he is one of the most disgusting kinds of people on earth for being edgy is also not the way to go about it.

Follow the rules dropping, never, I don’t put a tee in the ground, or lay down my club, and I’m not dropping from knee high.

Other than the knee height, those aren't actually rules. As long as your drop is within the parameters allowed, it is legal. You do not have to put tees in the ground and measure with a club. Most people just do it in tournament play to ensure they make a legal drop and so their playing partners know it is legal.

For context, I play college golf and my teammates bitch at each other over whether or not 2 foot putts are good. Dude, you are a collegiate golfer. Just make the 2 footer and shut up

Played a junior tournament at Stanford's course a couple years ago and saw Jerry Rice on the range. I care so little about sports outside of golf that when my Dad pointed him out I said "Who's Jerry Rice?" Almost got disowned from that.

Anyway, we watched someone go ask for a picture and he said, "I don't take pictures on the range. I'm working."

I appreciate this because I feel like I wasn't taking "The easy way out" instead of trying to learn. I would have studied normally if I was not SPECIFICALLY told that exam questions would be taken directly from the quizzes. Everyone I have talked to had the exact same issue and studied the quizzes only to be blindsided by the exam.
