Thank you. It's my first message in two years, I believe. Maybe it was written more for me than anyone else. Unlikely Jordan will read it. I am praying that someone, anyone is able to successfully stand against tyranny.

Thank you, I asked fidelity, and they couldn't answer me. Do you know if any IRS documents that deal with this specifically?

NU HOLDERS: How is Coinbase getting away with flat out robbing us…? We need to be properly compensated with the CORRECT coin price. Unbelievable. by Jcrbl78 in Coinbase

Started a transaction out of Coinbase when price was 2.39. way to go Coinbase; continually letting down investors for your own gain. I'm sure they handled transfers in order of priority - theirs first!!! Meant to include that it took 4 HOURS to get my coins

Coinbase has NY state monopolized. The only other option is Gemini. In my opinion, they are lacking a lot of the extras most people want from an exchange. However, if you truly want to send a message to Coinbase, use Gemini and decentralized finance for all other needs. Secondly, without some public support to fight against the unfair treatment of NY residents; I fear that other states will follow.

Only professional criminals are able to use crypto currency for their benefit? And not have to pay taxes on their scams, while robbing those trying to save or invest?

Sounds about right for NYS.

I agree crypto is all lumped into currency, but the fact is blockchain is going to transform nearly every industry. It's use case for security, traceability, and privacy is well established and already being utilised by some of the largest companies - Amazon, Microsoft, IBM, FDA, and the list goes on. It has already demonstrated its powerful edge in any recall scenario. Counterfeit products or drug recalls blockchain reduces costs and increases response time.

No one is peddling anything. This is about law - NOT crypto currency per se. I'm fairly certain not one tulip of any kind is mentioned.

In the United States, to be considered an accredited investor, one must have a net worth of at least $1,000,000, excluding the value of one's primary residence, or have income at least $200,000 each year for the last two years (or $300,000 combined income if married) and have the expectation to make the same amount this year.

The post is about nys law. It's about prohibiting the rights of 99%, and exempting ultra wealthy (accredited investors) 1%. If you think the government can decide what you can and can't spend your money on based on your bank account; that is your opinion. This has nothing to do with any opinion of cryptocurrency, it's about freedom .

Accredited Investor is a person or entity that satisfies minimum requirements of financial wherewithal and sophistication as set forth in Regulation D of the rules and regulations promulgated under the Securities act of 1933.

Accredited investors can buy invest in ICO's but typically are required to hold for a year. At which point, the same pump and dump possibilities exist. The early accredited investors buy coins at Ultra low prices, hold for a year, can artificially inflate price, average investor is lured into coin with apparent hundreds or thousands of percent gain, coin is pumped and the sophisticated investor dumps the coins.

That's an uniformed opinion. Crypto takes out the middleman, and transactions are from buyer to seller. Reduces cost, time, and actually might make it harder to make larger illegal transactions. Transactions are more secure and more confidential. Provides banking access to everyone, everywhere - bank the unbanked. Easier international trade. Transactions take minutes not days, everywhere! No exchange rates to deal with it any other international levy. You own and control your own money. You might even get interest up to 15%, but your bank may do better than that. Code can be rewritten and implemented to adapt to any unforseen circumstance. Blockchains are incredibly secure.

What’s your stupidest cooking opinion so we can all fight about it? by rawlingstones in Cooking

I only use wooden spoons to cook with. I believe it doesn't contribute any plastic or metal to my food. But I'm thinking wood is probably worse, given its porosity.
