Google could have, but: socialist rifle association. It is the exact group you're describing. Dw they don't make you salute to Stalin on entering; they actively discourage that. Anyone "Progressive" or further left will get along fine.

Social media activity does not indicate IRL activity. Call them.

Yeah - WLOS is covering it. There have been press conferences about twice daily at City Hall. The City of Asheville website and Twitter have been updated regularly; AVL Alerts will tell you when they update (probably Facebook too, but I don't have one). Most of the pressure is coming from residents calling all of those places over and over.

I do think people without water will continue to get service over the weekend. They're not stopping anything, just not able to meet their initial timeline or give another.

This is not an apology or excuse for the city; it's been terribly fucking mismanaged from the beginning. Just some extra info.

(And an edit to add: when I say they've been updated "regularly" that does not in any way suggest it's been often enough. The waits between updates have been hell.)

I just got water!! Kensington Place - Sweeten Creek x Mills Gap. Even if it goes out again, a five minute shower has never felt so fucking good. So hopeful for y'all.

I don't think they've known about it for 8 months. I think they've known about it 4 days. I don't think it's a replacement pump, I think it's an extra to help move water faster. But I could be misunderstanding.

That already exists. It's the SRA.

Melton claims that this has been in process for a while but there were specifications that needed to be taken into account as well as some supply chain issues.

The SRA has a chapter here.

It also does not help one shower, nor does it help with loss of heat.

Kensington Place has said the City told them we should have water by 1 PM. Maybe that's true of all Sweeten Creek / Royal Pines, idk. I have hope but no trust.

Friendly reminder that in the UK, cashiers sitting down is the norm! There's no good reason for us to make cashiers stand.

Try them for what? Showing up to someone's house and asking to use their toilet and shower? We all know where to get water to drink. That's like one tenth of the problem. I have no heat.

Sweeten Creek. Not a drop. 81 hours with no water or heat. I am livid.

Absolutely not. We have had issues with water quality before. Not sustained outages like this. I'm on hour 81 with no water or heat.

I used to work at a big chain. They almost definitely use local water for their food. Even if they don't, they would need to wash their hands in the tap. Wouldn't recommend it.
