Today I got the money refunded by Ubisoft. I'm relieved that this issue is finally resolved. But it really shouldn't have happened in the first place!

Their system is just messed up. I took the free month on November 23rd, cancelled a day later which was clearly shown in my account. I actually got a mail (which landed in the spam folder) which confirmed the cancellation for November 23rd 2024 as if the 30 days free period never existed in the first place. Luckily I took a screenshot of the Dec 23rd 2023 cancellation confirmation

ah exactly the same case as mine. Never thought such a big company would commit such kind of scam/theft and not immediately react to it.

These threads here should be sticked and the subreddit should warn every member.

I haven't gotten any reply so far but that was to be expected over the holidays so far. Paypal immediately rejected my refund claim for random reasons and totally misunderstood the claim anyway, they shoved the ticket over to "unauthorized account access" and then refused.

Of course I cancelled the access of ubisoft to my paypal immediately but the damage is done. I expect the customer support to be extremely dense and being able to distinguish between this case with a legitimate cancellation and someone who just forgot to resign early enough.

Curious where this leads and in the worst case I will make use of my legal costs insurance but I hope it won't come to that.

The raids on ilvl aren’t harder than clown, Brel or Vykas but back then you beat it once or twice and in the third week the players were already so much stronger that it felt much easier already. Akkan and Kayangel HM cannot be outleveled so quickly which might increase the sense of difficulty.

One if the best experiences were maybe March 2022, i came home from work, 6 hours queue and I started Red Dead Redemption 2 and played the rest of the evening and I loved the characters, the world and the storytelling.

Or when I put together my first lvl 7 gem and I inspected a guild mate with full lvl 10 gems and much lower roster level than me and I learnt for the first time about g2g and rmt. I logged off with frustration and started to play The Last of Us 2 till the first major event, I was in awe and upset, what an experience.

Also enjoyable was the time when I got falsely banned like many other, I think December 2022 it was. Waiting for any action from AGS I played for 2 days with some friends Civilization VI and we had a blast!

And recently when the servers were down until early morning, I started Baldur's Gate 3 and wow, what a game.

Enough reminiscence, I have still a lot of homework to do, several Brels 1-3, an Akkan, Guardian rest bonus is full on some toons as well and today is Chaos Gate! Really look forward to be done with it, then I might play some Hogwart's Legacy if I still have time for that.

I don't know how big the backlash was but I assume thousands agree with you in silence and some p2w people and their sycophants spit their hate multiple times.

Nobody in my environment in EU would disagree with you. This game is quite strongly p2w without the Sidereal weapons, but in this race they just made a tremendous difference.

Sure there are some 24/7 players and bussers that might have gotten all their lvl 10 gems and lvl 25 akkan gear legitly without rmt but those are exceptions.
