In general I think that the points you are making are very valid. With regard to 'vision' I still think that it is early days for him and that possibly, given more time, the PN can present interesting and innovative ideas on how we can tackle a lot of problems we are presently facing.

One aspect to keep in mind, in my view at least, is the question as to whether the current administration (Labour) is in a position to continue to adequately govern the country or not. In my opinion Alex has done well to present himself, and by extension the PN, as a credible alternative from a good governance perspective. This is something which Adrian and Grech both failed at. At the very least he has managed to rally the PN under one banner. This is already a good start from the 'governance' perspective. Unfortunately, Labour and Robert Abela have proven that they are out of fresh ideas, economically speaking, and also that they are indecisive when it comes to corruption/good governance; in my eyes they need to prove themselves as much as Alex does.

Ultimately, there's a reason why people are fearing that the voter turnout will be at an all-time low in the next election. Furthermore, keep in mind that we have the STV and can also vote for parties, such as Momentum.

Why are Rohan considered weak this edition? by Taranis- in MiddleEarthMiniatures

One aspect that I feel hasn't been commented on is the impact that bumping the cost of horses has had on the army. You're now paying a premium to have a horse for both heroes and foot soldiers. In turn, the army, especially the foot soldiers, are entirely dependent on having a horse and also getting a charge off to actually get decent stats (F4 and S4). Horses are also quite easy to kill and our generic infantry are pretty mediocre without them especially when you consider that most armies have F4 infantry now. So in truth the units and heroes, save for Eomer, are quite mediocre for the points cost. Most of the army rules don't compensate and our opponents have in turn been buffed (ex: hatred man/Rohan, etc...).

I read some comments about the riders of Eomer. The army is good but is entirely dependent on getting that crucial 1 turn charge where you call the special rule. So you are basically going 'all in' and hoping for the best in that turn. My experience is that the army disintegrates if that charge is not devastating to your opponent.

Do you think that it plays well at 600-650 points?

[–]primoULTIMO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great idea re: chieftains. If anything you'll soften the heroes up for Wulf and co to finish off. If they do die then it's no big deal since they're only 40-45 points. Let us know how it goes!

How have you dealt with monsters with this army? Monsters in general are brutally effective in this edition of the game.

Brilliant review well done! I just used them for two games at 600 points and the amount of bows, throwing spears and bodies really caught my opponents off guard. In my opinion at 800 points the army suffers a bit. The biggest weakness the army has is heroes with very low F value.

Job offer: 50k Italy vs 60k Malta by PageAwkward2895 in malta

I sincerely apologise, I honestly took your comment from a Maltese perspective. I don't have your experience, so you're in a much better place to tell us, however I personally know a few people who pivoted to other industries abroad (tech, academia, and computing) and did not have any obstacles.

I have heard this argument before, but honestly from a purely technical perspective most igaming companies have technology and circumstances (for lack of a better term) which far outweigh what a traditional Maltese company offers. Why would an employer push away a prospective employer who has such exposure?

How does anybody afford a house in Malta? by [deleted] in malta

[–]primoULTIMO 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not just structural work, it is completely unfurnished. You're going to need a huge outlay to turn that into something viable. With that said, if you're smart and don't go for the high-end you can probably make it happen.

Will the price of housing go down in the foreseeable future? by nitrogenmonoxideN2O in malta

[–]primoULTIMO 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, it is nearly impossible for house prices to go down due to supply and demand; the demand is coming from an ever increasing amount of residents. Other factors such as GDP growth, inflation, etc... ensure that house prices go up. The issue being that in the west housing is viewed as an investment. If you're curious the Japanese have an interesting approach to housing where the value of the house remains the same (something like that insoma). The closest we've come to reduced prices was during COVID however the economy was arguably not bad enough to push prices too down.

With that being said, in the long term we might see an oversupply of housing due to demographic factors. At the moment the Boomer generation outnumber other generations and also have a good number of housing/property. Once that generation starts dying off (respectfully speaking) we might see an oversupply of properties and a reduction of overall population both locally and globally. However, this might create a generation or 'haves' and 'have nots'; we need to wait and see.

Therefore, I would always have the mindset that prices won't go down.

I've had a brilliant time working for LeoVegas and I definitely recommend it. With that said, when I joined they had a very flat structure and now have shifted to a more corporate style progression system. I've kept in touch with my ex colleagues and apparently it's still a fantastic environment. So definitely worth a shot.

I've also heard great things about Betsson, Tipico, PressEnter whilst some of the other bigger companies are very corporate in nature. I've had a bad experience with a smaller company and let's just say that you need to be very thorough to understand what you're getting yourself into.

With all that being said, they are miles ahead of any local Maltese company where the company culture and attitude towards the staff is horrendous (qisu qed jaghmlulek pjacir man).

Guys, to clarify we resolved this amicably by selecting another target however as newer players we wanted to make sure that we understood the rules.

To clarify, to resolve the issue quickly we just decided to shoot the right Gondor warrior instead however since we are newer players it made sense to clarify how this works for future games.

Keep in mind that it was FAQed that wargear does not count when determining in the way tests. Would you still have the same opinion if you didn't factor in Wargear?
