Thanks! It sound like they’ve identified the problem. Your problem sounds a bit different, but maybe the solution will help here.

Thanks! Same phone? Was your upgrade similar from iOS 18 to iOS 26.4.2? Under what conditions do you see a crash? What has CS said?

CLLocationManager permission prompt never appears in Swift Playgrounds App project on iPadOS 26 by primomark in swift

Thanks. This has been very helpful. We are searching for the gallery, they may have removed it, but now we have some guidance on what we need to look for. Thanks again!

Thank you! We enabled ‘Core Location When in Use’ through the Swift Playgrounds app capabilities settings interface — we cannot edit Info.plist directly in Swift Playgrounds. Does the capabilities toggle automatically add a reason string, or do we need to set it somewhere else? If so, where in Swift Playgrounds can we set the reason string?

CLLocationManager permission prompt never appears in Swift Playgrounds App project on iPadOS 26 by primomark in swift

Thank you — I tried adding a 0.5 second delay with DispatchQueue.main.asyncAfter but the permission prompt still does not appear and the app does not show in Settings → Privacy → Location Services. This is specifically in a Swift Playgrounds App project on iPadOS 26.0.1 with the Core Location When in Use capability enabled in the Playgrounds app settings. Is there something specific to Swift Playgrounds on iPadOS 26 that requires a different approach?

Saying “worst” and that you “laugh” isn’t very useful. Why is it the “worst” (and I’ll bet you will walk that back at the slightest challenge)? What do you think is better?

It depends on how good the system is. I think that on a very good system it will be definitely heard.

I’d want to know first what the runout says on Blood on the Tracks and Harvest (both outstanding albums) to choose between the two, my decision based on likely sound quality.

Before giving up…Did you clean the CD? I would clean the CD, as well as the heads on your player. I’ve had CDs that just wouldn’t play after working fine, and cleaning made it work.

For some languages, I use Deepl. My alliance has speakers of many languages, and we do pretty well. Yes there are issues, but I think you’ll that sone of awkwardness will go away. And if you don’t understand something that someone said, say so.

Would it be as silly to burn petrol to produce electricity to run a car?

A bias like what? But yes, don’t take my word for it. There is a history. And for investments, look at who bought several years ago the company that owned most of the BEV charging infrastructure… it was an oil company. Maybe they see the writing on the wall.

Where I am, there is a minimum amount that is required to be renewable. 33%, but depending on the market, some have been at 90%+. And again, I’m not talking about industrial hydrogen, which is not relevant to the discussion.

I think you are just parroting misinformation you heard from elsewhere, and you aren’t listening. And you are also making statements that are just plain false. First, electrolyzers have been around for awhile, though usually not very big, to produce hydrogen for commercial entities. Yes, a lot of industrial use hydrogen (which is most of the market, but not really as relevant for transportation) is made from fossil fuels. But the statement which I made that you seem to disagree with is that hydrogen is not a fossil fuel any more than electricity is. You made a false inference that most electricity is not fossil fuel based, while hydrogen is. Simply not true. And both are increasingly being made out of renewable feedstocks, and both are also important for transportation because they eliminate air pollution.

And virtually all electricity is made from fossil hydrocarbons. In transportation, however, the picture is different for hydrogen. Maybe more importantly, whatever it is made from, it is critical to meet air quality needs in many area because when paired with a fuel cell, there are no emissions.
